Premier League Betting Preview: Big games at the bottom

| BY News Team

This season’s title race looks set to be one of the best in Premier League history with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City separated by just one point.

The Gunners moved top on Saturday with their 2-1 win over Brentford. And they remain top of the pile on goal difference after Liverpool and City fought out a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

It’s the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend, so there are only four matches in the top-flight. But there is something on each one as the battle for survival and a top-four place continues.

As always, we’ll have great offers on all the action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more. And, if you’ve not used it already, don’t forget your Epic Boost is available before you get a new one on Sunday.

To get you ready, let’s look at this weekend’s Premier League matches…

Burnley v Brentford – Saturday, 16th March @ 15:00

Burnley’s hopes of survival looked boosted when they took a 2-0 lead at West Ham, but they couldn’t hold on and had to settle for a 2-2 draw at London Stadium. The Clarets remain 19th, 10 points from safety.

Brentford sit five points clear of the bottom three, but they’ve not won in five Premier League games (D1 L4).

Here’s some top bets for Burnley v Brentford:

Match result – Draw – 27/10

  • Burnley are winless in their last 10 league games (D3 L7) and have yet to win in 2024.
  • Brentford have won three of their last 17 in the top-flight (D1 L13).

Dara O’Shea to score a header – 22/1

  • Brentford have conceded 17 headed goals this season, more than any other side.

Fofana to score any time – 6/4

  • David Datro Fofana has been involved in four of the six league goals Burnley have scored since he made his debut in January (3 goals, 1 assist).

Luton v Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 16th March @ 15:00

Luton missed the chance to climb out of the bottom three on Wednesday as they threw a three-goal lead away against Bournemouth. The Hatters led 3-0 at half-time but conceded four after the break to leave with nothing.

A win could have moved Luton above Nottingham Forest in the table. Can they take all three points when the sides meet at Kenilworth Road? Forest are on a poor run of form, losing their last three.

Here’s some top bets for Luton v Forest:

Luton to win – 17/10

  • Forest have won one of their last 18 Premier League games against promoted sides.
  • Away from home, Forest have drawn eight of their last nine against promoted sides.
  • Forest have won two of their last 24 PL away games.

Carlton Morris to score the first goal – 5/1

  • Morris has scored in each of his last three home games.
  • Scored 3 and had 1 assist in last four at Kenilworth Road.

Luton over 1.5 goals – 5/4

  • Forest have only kept two clean sheets in their last 24 away games.

Fulham v Spurs – Saturday, 16th March @ 17:30

Spurs turned on the style at Villa Park last weekend as they cruised to a 4-0 win over Aston Villa. That moved them within two points of fourth-place Villa.

Fulham are mired in mid-table after they were beaten by Wolves at Molineux, a result that denied them three wins in a row.

Here’s some top bets for Fulham v Spurs:

Spurs to score two goals – 9/4

  • Spurs have scored at least twice in each of their last six away games.
  • Spurs are averaging 2.2 goals per game this season.

Muniz to score at any time – 6/4

  • Rodrigo Muniz has been involved in six goals in his last six PL games (5 goals, 1 assist).

Son to score or assist – 3/4

  • Son Heung-min has been involved in 22 goals in his last 21 PL appearances (14 goals, 8 assists).
  • Son has scored five in his last six London derbies.

West Ham v Aston Villa – Sunday, 17th March @ 14:00

Villa remain fourth but will be looking over their shoulder after last weekend’s defeat to Spurs. Unai Emery’s side have a worse goal difference than Spurs, so need to get back to winning ways against West Ham.

The Hammers seemed to have turned a corner with two wins and a draw in recent weeks. They showed great fight to come back against Burnley, Danny Ings netting the equaliser in the 91st minute.

Here’s some top bets for West Ham v Villa:

Match Result – Draw – 14/5

  • West Ham unbeaten in last eight PL home games with Villa (W4 D4).
  • Villa unbeaten in eight PL games in London under Unai Emery, winning last four.

Aston Villa to lead at half-time – 8/5

  • Only Arsenal (31) have scored more first-half goals than Villa (29).
  • Only Man City (14) have been leading at HT more than Villa (13).

Ollie Watkins to score any time & Aston Villa to win – 29/10

  • Watkins’ 16 PL goals have been worth 13 points to Villa. No player’s strikes have been more valuable.
  • Watkins scored a brace in his last two PL away games.
