Inter Milan will host Spurs on Tuesday 18th September in an early kick-off, with the San Siro a cold threshold for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to walk over. All eyes will be on the clash, and coverage will occur on BT Sport.
Inter Milan vs Tottenham predictions & odds
The Nerazzurri are tipped to win at 15/8 in the William Hill Inter Milan vs Tottenham odds, whilst Pochettino’s Lilywhites are the betting favourites at 6/4, with a draw trading at 3/1.
Tottenham lost only one of their eight Champions League games last season, and based on the odds we’ve backed them to triumph against Luciano Spalletti’s men.
Key to Tottenham’s result will be the performance of the dynamic duo Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.
Kane, who in recent seasons has been prolific for Spurs in the Champions League with 10 goals in nine appearances, is strongly tipped to score by our betting tipsters, whilst Moura is also predicted to cause Inter defensive woes.
But it won’t be easy picking for Spurs. Tottenham have won only one of their previous nine European matches away from home against Italian opposition and Inter surely won’t sit back and allow Spurs to advance on them.
Inter forward Mauro Icardi will be the most potent threat to Jan Vertonghen and co. Not only does he possess the prowess to score goals in abundance, but also works hard off the ball, tracking back and making dangerous runs.
Whilst Spalletti’s men have talent all over the pitch, based on form and pre-match predictions, Argentinian Icardi will surely be their main threat.
Head-to-head: This will be the fifth meeting in European competition between Inter Milan and Spurs, with each winning two of the previous four encounters. Both sides managed to emerge as victors over the other on the road, but failed to come up with the goods on home turf.
Tottenham’s last meeting against Spalletti’s men in the Champions League came in the 2010-11 group stages, where – despite a Gareth Bale hat-trick – Spurs lost 4-3 at the San Siro.
Inter Milan vs Tottenham predictions: Betting tips
Predicted score: Spurs to win 2-1 trading at 17/2
Spurs may have to come from behind, with odds based on form suggesting that they will struggle at the San Siro.
Yet an attacking lineup featuring Kane, Moura, Deli Ali, Eric Lamela and Christian Eriksen may be just the inspiration Tottenham will need to secure a historic win away from home in the Champions League.
In the second installation of our Inter Milan vs Tottenham predictions, we’ve tipped them to steal the three points in the dying moments of the game by two goals to one.

Predicted scorer: Mauro Icardi to score first, betting @ 9/2
The Italian forward bagged 29 goals in 34 performances in last season’s campaign and statistics based on form in front of goal suggest that he could be just as prolific for Inter come Tuesday evening.
The Spurs back four will have a torrid time in nullifying his potency; he remains a perpetual presence in and around the last defender; allowing him to catch out sleeping man-markers and run through onto goal.
Yet given that there is a predicted scoreline of 2-1, Icardi is our pick to be the one that causes Tottenham the most problems.
Predicted number of goals scored: under 2.5, tipped @ 4/6
With both teams possessing prolific attacking trios, Tuesday’s game could be a close one, making every opportunity in front of goal all the more important.
Yet what pre-match verdicts have forgotten to pick out is the sturdy defensive setups of both sides. Inter boast a back four containing the likes of Stefen De Vrij and Milan Škriniar who provide massive presence and physicality at the back.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Vertonghen, Toby Alderwiereld and Kieran Trippier all impressed during the summer World Cup
The odds of 4/6 seem perplexing considering the star-studded offensive line-ups on display, but the real battle with occur at the back. Based on this, we’ve tipped the final score to be under 2.5 goals, as part of our Inter Milan vs Tottenham predictions.
