Still unbeaten domestically, Juventus have been in imperious form ahead of their Supercoppa Italiana clash with Milan at the King Abdullah Sports City in Saudi Arabia, but our predictions focus on their surprisingly poor record in the competition under Massimiliano Allegri.
Juventus vs Milan: Odds and Predictions
The seven-time-successive-Scudetti-winners are 2/7 to lift the trophy and they’re trading at as short as 1/2 in the betting to win the contest within normal time.
Yet they’ve lost three of the four Supercoppas they’ve contested since Allegri swapped the San Siro for Turin and our Juventus vs Milan predictions are all about taking them on.
Gennaro Gattuso’s Rossoneri, who’ve failed to beat the Serie A champions in their last five clashes dating back to the 2016 Supercoppa, are trading at odds of 5/2 to win the competition and 6/1 to do so in 90 minutes.
Juventus vs Milan head-to-head (most recent first): Milan 0-2 Juventus, Juventus 4-0 Milan, Juventus 3-1 Milan, Milan 0-2 Juventus, Juventus 2-1 Milan, Juventus 1-1 Milan (Milan won 4-3 on penalties).
Juventus vs Milan predictions: correct score, best bet, scorer tips
Correct score prediction: Juventus 2-2 Milan, betting @ 18/1
Two of Juve’s three Supercoppa Italiana losses in the past four seasons have seen them go out on penalties, while the third would’ve gone to extra time if not for a 93rd-minute Alessandro Murgia winner. Milan are likely to be more than satisfied with still being in it after normal time.
Even by their own standards, the Bianconeri are ruling Italy with a rod of iron this term, failing to win just two of their 20 domestic matches, but draws (1-1 at home to Genoa and 2-2 away to Atalanta) offer Gattuso’s men some hope.
They’ve also been beaten 2-1 twice in the Champions League, suggesting that if they’re to be taken to extra time in Jeddah, 1-1 or 2-2 are the best Juventus vs Milan predictions for the correct score.
Allegri’s side have only given up more than one goal in a clash with a domestic foe twice this term, but given the Supercoppa’s status as a mid-winter-break ‘game apart’, an extra degree of defensive generosity is foreseen.
Best bet: Both teams to score, trading @ 21/20
Only one side in Serie A has rewarded fans of both teams to score betting more often than Milan this term, while Juventus are the second-highest scorers in the division and haven’t failed to notch in a game all season long.
With forwards of the ilk of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain likely to play a part, our Juventus vs Milan predictions foresee goals at both ends.
The Goalscorer predictions: Gonzalo Higuain our pick to score anytime @ 23/10
Higuain is still owned by Juve but appears to be on his way out of the club having been strongly linked to Chelsea among other teams, in the January transfer window.
Having got himself sent off for Milan in Turin earlier this season, he’s running out of chances to prove his parent club wrong and the lethal marksman should be fired up for this one-off clash.
Our Juventus vs Milan predictions expects him to punish the Bianconeri in Jeddah.
