League 2 Betting Tips 2026/27: Best Bets In The Fourth Tier This Weekend
THE early season EFL League Two table is shaping up very nicely with four games played and Tony Incenzo previews the best of the action on Saturday.
Some six teams remain unbeaten thereby adding spice to League Two betting. And a further four sides have not been able to record a win so far.
Here is my considered analysis of the upcoming fixtures to assist your football betting…
Bristol Rovers v Rotherham United Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 1st versus 13th
Bristol Rovers preview – Enjoying a one point buffer. Rovers lost their opening EFL game 3-2 at York City before amassing three consecutive wins.
Rotherham United preview – Regrouping after last season’s EFL League One relegation. Rotherham reflect on a solitary victory at present.
Score prediction: Rovers run riot 4-0.
Chesterfield v Barnet Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 16th versus 2nd
Chesterfield preview – Just one win so the Spireites are etched in lower mid-table territory. Boosted by the loan signing of Sheffield United striker Louie Marsh.
Barnet preview – One point off first place. The undefeated Bees drew their last two outings following on from two straight maximum pointers. Barnet signed Tottenham Hotspur loan striker Damola Ajayi on Tuesday.
Score prediction: Barnet brilliant 3-1.
Exeter City v Walsall Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 15th versus 3rd
Exeter City preview – Holding one victory. Deadline day signings were defender Jack Taylor (from Stevenage on loan), striker Danny Rose (Barrow, two year contract) and forward Ajay Matthews (Millwall, loan).
Walsall preview – Symmetrical form – win, draw, win, draw – to hover one point below pole position. Tuesday saw Huddersfield Town midfield man Antony Evans recruited on a season long loan.
Score prediction: Walsall watertight 1-0.
Crewe Alexandra v York City Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 4th versus 7th
Crewe Alexandra preview – A two game winning commencement was overturned by two successive draws. The only EFL goals conceded to date came in Tuesday night’s 2-2 home affair against Walsall where Crewe battled from 2-0 down to rescue a point thanks to Reece Hutchinson’s stoppage-time thunderbolt equaliser.
York City preview – Also on Tuesday, a 3-2 reverse at Cheltenham Town abruptly terminated the Minstermen’s unbeaten return to EFL membership after a 10 year absence. However clubs promoted from the Enterprise National League normally do well so I am fully confident York will bounce back this weekend.
Score prediction: York yielding 2-1.
Tranmere Rovers v Oldham Athletic Prediction
- Kick-off: 3pm
- Rankings: 10th versus 5th
Tranmere Rovers preview – Undefeated although the last three engagements resulted in draws. Loan newcomers are Peterborough duo George Nevett (defender) and striker David Kamara.
Oldham Athletic preview – Merely one defeat leaves Oldham Athletic two points under top spot. But still looking for a first 2026/27 away EFL win.
Score prediction: Insufferable 0-0.
