Liverpool predictions 2024-25 season

Liverpool, all in all, had a relatively good season last year, considering their injury problems. At one point in the Premier League season they were very much challenging for the title but Arsenal and Manchester City just pulled away leaving Liverpool clear in third, but how are their chances this year with new manager, Arne Slot, at the helm?

We take a look at their chances in the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and of course the most prestigious competition in Europe, the UEFA Champions League.

Premier League – 15/2

Despite coming third in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season, Liverpool are a lot weaker in the market to come out on top this season to last. Liverpool are 15/2 to win the Premier League, mostly because of how dominant Manchester City and Arsenal have been it looks like a tough ask for the Merseyside team. However, Liverpool under new manager, Arne Slot, are an unquantifiable outfit as we do not know what effect the newly appointed Dutchman is going to have on the youthful squad, whilst revitalising the form of the more experienced players like Mohammed Salah.

That said, winning the Premier League title will be a tough ask. At 11/10, Manchester City are favourites in the market to taste victory in England’s top flight for a record-extending five times in a row. Arsenal aren’t far behind as 7/4 second favourites to get their hands on the trophy, but you could argue Liverpool have more experience.

With no major outgoings nor transfers in, Liverpool could find themselves in pretty good stead come the start of the season with three relatively routine opening games against Ipswich, Brentford and Manchester United. Where you would expect at least 7 points to get them off to a fast start.

Champions League – 10/1

Liverpool are back in the Champions League this upcoming season, after having a year out in the Europa League. They did not back up their favouritism to win the whole competition, and failed to pass eventual winners, Atalanta in their quarter-final fixture.

That was however with a much more inexperienced squad available, as mentioned before the side did struggle with injury and it could have easily resulted differently if Jürgen Klopp had his full artillery at his disposal. If Liverpool have more luck this season with fitness, they are 10/1 to win the Champions League which looks fair price. They sit fourth in the market behind Man City (11/4), Real Madrid (3/1) and Arsenal (8/1).

FA Cup – 7/1

The FA Cup is a competition which Liverpool have always done well in, having won the trophy on eight occasions in the past. The latest in 2022 when beating Chelsea on penalties in the final.

They are however 7/1 and unsurprisingly, they sit behind Manchester City at 3/1 and Arsenal (6/1) in the market. There’s no doubt that Arne Slot will look at the FA Cup as a real opportunity to win silverware in his first season in England. If this is a priority, then 7/1 seems a very appealing price for a side that have good history in tournament football.

English League Cup – 15/2

Liverpool are the current holders of this trophy, having beaten Chelsea 1-0 after extra-time last season. They are the surprisingly large price of 15/2, and if, similarly to the FA Cup, Arne Slot sees the League Cup as a good starting block in terms of a trophy to target then this is a very backable price.

The Reds find themselves behind (yet again) Manchester City (7/2) and Arsenal (6/1) in the betting.
