Everton will make the trip from Merseyside to Manchester this Sunday to face a United team in crisis. Jose Mourinho’s side were denied a win last week against a high-flying Chelsea side and will be looking to right their sub-par form with a win against Marco Silva’s side.
Man United vs Everton: odds and predictions
The Red Devils are much fancied by the William Hill traders with their odds are betting at 7/10 whilst Marco Silva’s Toffees are placed at a 4/1 pick to claim all three points at Old Trafford.
A sharing of the spoils of war is wagering at a 14/5 tip and our Man United vs Everton predictions and betting tips are backing exactly that when the two sides meet in Manchester.
Jose Mourinho suffered his third defeat in his last three games when Juventus came into town and won courtesy of a Paulo Dybala goal.
Manchester United were characteristically poor and struggled to create clear chances to worry the Old Lady.
There is fresh optimism brewing on the blue side of Merseyside after a fruitful run of recent form propelled Everton 8th in the league.
Three consecutive victories over Fulham, Leicester City and Crystal Palace has lifted the Toffees to a respectable position – a position more indicative of the good football they played earlier in the season.
Two late goals against Crystal Palace on the weekend courtesy of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun sealed the three points and granted coach Marco Silva the breathing space he required after a poor return of points in his first five games.
But can they take a step further and defeat United on their own patch?
Head-to-Head (most recent first): Everton 0-2 Manchester United, Manchester United 4-0 Everton, Manchester United 1-1 Everton, Everton 1-1 Manchester United, Everton 1-2 Manchester United.
Man United vs Everton match bets: score, best bet, scorer tips
Predicted score: 2-2 draw betting at 14/1
Mourinho will be absolutely desperate for three points as his grasp on the Manchester United job continues to loosen. He remains the odds-on favourite in the Premier League manager sack race.
The first installment of our Man United vs Everton predictions and betting tips figure Mourinho will still be without a win come the weekend.
Everton have looked solid in recent games, potent going forward and showcasing the ability to grind out results when under pressure.
While we don’t reckon they’ll pick up their fourth consecutive Premier League win, our traders do believe the Toffees will get something from this fixture.
Best bet: Over 2.5 goals scored, odds @ 4/5
David de Gea has conceded 16 goals in nine Premier League matches for Manchester United this season – in 2017-18, he conceded the same tally of goals in his first 24 matches and didn’t concede his 17th goal until January 31st.
Loose defences sink ships and in United’s last six games, they have conceded 11 goals.
There are clear systematic issues at the back and Mourinho doesn’t appear to be any closer to fixing them.
Can Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurðsson and Theo Walcott get in on the act? In our Man United vs Everton predictions, we’re forecasting them to do so.
Predicted scorer: Romelu Lukaku to score first, priced @ 4/1
In truth, Romelu Lukaku has yet to reproduce the brilliant goal-scoring form he showcased in his last season at Everton during his time so far at Manchester United.
His 2016-17 season – which triggered a £75m tussle between the Red Devils and Chelsea – saw the Belgian score an incredible 25 goals (just one penalty) in the Premier League including a four-month stretch from January to April where he scored in eight consecutive home games.
This season, however, Lukaku has fared a lot worse. With just four goals in all competitions and seemingly suffering from a disjointed frame of attack, the big forward has gone eight games without a goal.
Still, our Man United vs Everton predictions and betting tips are backing him to blow off the cobwebs and score first against his old side, with his odds betting at a 4/1 pick.
