Monday Night Football preview: Liverpool hoping to continue top-four push against Leeds

| BY News Team

With just seven points separating Leeds and Liverpool, this Monday Night Football clash could be a thriller. Ahead of the game, we preview it here and take a look at the latest odds.

Klopp has questions to face

It could seem like a long run in until the end of the season from this point for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. His side were riding high last season but now find themselves out of the Champions League and struggling to secure a top four finish in the Premier League.

Their visit to Elland Road on Monday night will be more of an uphill battle than the Merseyside team would have hoped for fresh from their European exit. Leeds come into the game on the back of a 10 man away from home victory against the Premier League winners-elect. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have gone unbeaten in four games, and if they can register a victory against Liverpool then it would earn them a fourth straight win in the top flight for the first time in 20 years. With talks about a new two-year deal on the horizon for the Argentine manager the team appears rejuvenated and certainly ready to tackle Klopp’s struggling side.

The task for Leeds will be made more difficult as captain Liam Cooper is suspended for the fixture after his sending off against City, this is reflected in Leeds’ price who are easy to back at 15/4. Favouritism in the fixture goes to the out of sorts Liverpool who are odds on at 4/6, although in a game that could go in any direction, its also worth noting the draw at 16/5.

This looks set to be a proper clash with both sides having plenty to play for as we enter the business end of the season.
