Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for matchday one:
Aston Villa v Newcastle United – Saturday, 12.30pm
- Aston Villa return to Villa Park on Saturday to face Newcastle in their curtain raiser, Unai Emery’s side will be hoping to replicate the result of the last time these two sides met here back in April, with Aston Villa winning 4-1.
- Newcastle head into the new season off the back of a dismal transfer window so far, the big news is that Alexander Isak has now reportedly told Newcastle that he won’t be playing for them again, with the striker after a move to Liverpool. On the pitch hasn’t been much better, having not won one of their six pre-season games, a slow start here wouldn’t surprise me.
Pick of the game: Aston Villa To Score Over 1.5 Goals.
Wolves v Manchester City – Saturday, 5.30pm
- Wolves will start Premier League life without Matheus Cunha on Saturday evening, facing a Manchester City side that they’ve beaten just once in their last ten meetings across all competitions, whilst no wins in their four pre-season fixtures hasn’t been ideal.
- Manchester City left the club world early after a shock defeat to Al Hilal, Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to move on swiftly from that and an opening fixture against Wolves could be the perfect opposition to do just that, having won nine of their last ten meetings, including four of the last five played at Molineux.
Pick of the game: Manchester City To Win.
Manchester United v Arsenal – Sunday, 4.30pm
- A new-look Manchester United side will be hoping to improve massively on last seasons horrific campaign, Ruben Amorim’s side face a tough test with the visit of Arsenal, although the Portuguese boss has drawn his last two games against the Gunners.
- Arsenal will be looking to go one further this season or at least put together a real title challenge but despite being the favourites in this one, the Gunners have won just two of their last eighteen Premier League visits to Old Trafford, whilst nine of the last eleven PL meetings here in Manchester have seen both teams on the scoresheet.
Pick of the game: Both Teams To Score.
Leeds v Everton – Monday, 8pm
- Leeds return back to the Premier League and have the advantage of playing their first game back in front of a rowdy Elland Road, the Yorkshire side haven’t beaten the Toffees in their last five Premier League meetings.
- Everton will be boosted not only by a campaign in their new stadium but also the arrival of Jack Grealish from Manchester City, the Blues have won three of their last five meetings with Leeds over the years but the last five competitive meetings here have all seen both teams find the back of the net.
Pick of the game: Both Teams To Score.
