Manchester City cannot afford any further mistakes if they are to forge the faintest glimmer of hope in their quest to narrow the gap between themselves and runaway Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Their last two visits to the Emirates have ended in victory, with an aggregate score across those two games of 5-0. City are favourites here at 4/9 but there are other markets worth pursuing.
With the Londoners preparing for this game off the back of a much-needed win at West Ham last time out in the league, they will be keen to continue the momentum by taking something here on Sunday.
Gunners have the ammunition
Arsenal came from behind to fire three in ten minutes past West Ham on Monday, which will have come as a relief to their fans, having effectively dropped five points when playing Brighton and Norwich in their previous two league games.
They may be in ninth place heading into the weekend, but they sit sixth in terms of goals scored, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gifting the Gunners 11 in the league already this season, with only Jamie Vardy ahead of him on 16.
The Gabon international will be looking to add to his recent tally of four goals in his last five on Sunday and, while he’s as short as 6/5 in the anytime goal scorer market, Aubameyang can be backed at 5/1 to score first.
Man City not sitting pretty
Pep Guardiola’s City side are arguably the weakest they have ever looked under him and it would take a monumental stumble from Liverpool to bring the title back to within their reach.
The usually-reliable Raheem Sterling appears to be suffering a goal drought, with only one attempt finding the back of the net in his last six Premier League appearances.
Their defeat in the Manchester derby last weekend will have only added to their performance anxieties and one point could well be all they poach against the Gunners. The draw is available at 17/4.
