Premier League Betting Preview: All eyes on the Etihad

| BY News Team

Domestic football returns this weekend as we begin the run-in to the end of the season.

All three title contenders play on Sunday, with Liverpool kicking things off against Brighton. Then Man City and Arsenal meet at the Etihad at 16:30.

At the bottom, Nottingham Forest return to action for the first time since being deducted four points for breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules. They host Crystal Palace on Saturday.

As always, we’ll have great offers on all the action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more. And, if you’ve not used it already, don’t forget your Epic Boost is available before you get a new one on Sunday.

To get you ready, let’s look at three of this weekend’s Premier League matches…

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace – Saturday, 30th March @ 15:00

Forest slipped into the bottom three following their points deduction. Can they climb straight back out with victory over Crystal Palace this weekend?

They welcome Crystal Palace to the City Ground – a side with no win in their last eight away league games (D3 L5).

Palace have an eight-point cushion on Forest ahead of their trip to Nottingham. Oliver Glasner has four points from his first three games in charge of the Eagles.

Here are some top bets for Forest v Palace:

Match result – draw – 12/5

  • Forest have drawn four of their seven Premier League meetings with Palace.
  • Palace have won one of their last 12 league games against Forest (D5 L6).
  • The Eagles are winless in their last eight away league games.

Chris Wood to score the first goal – 7/2

  • Since the start of last season, Forest have scored the opening goal in more Premier League games that they’ve failed to win than any other side (18 – D9 L9).
  • Wood is one goal away from scoring 10 in the Premier League this season, netting six in his last seven games.

Jean-Philippe Mateta to score & Palace to win – 11/2

  • Mateta has been involved in three goals in his last four league appearances for Palace (2 goals, 1 assist).
  • His five goals this season is already his joint-most in a single Premier League season.

Liverpool v Brighton – Sunday, 31st March @ 14:00

With their title rivals facing off later on Sunday, Liverpool could move back to the top of the table for a few hours with a win over Brighton at Anfield.

The Reds will still be licking their wounds from an extra-time defeat to Man Utd in the FA Cup – a result that ended their quadruple hopes.

Brighton have had three weeks without a Premier League game due to the FA Cup and international break. They only have the league to focus on now after exiting the Europa League.

Here are some top bets for Liverpool v Brighton:

Brighton to win and BTTS – 9/1

  • Having won each of their first six Premier League games against Brighton, Liverpool have now won just one of their last seven against them (D4 L2).
  • The Seagulls are unbeaten in their last three away league games against Liverpool (W1 D2).
  • Since the start of last season, Brighton have won 12 Premier League away games.

Salah to have a shot on target in both halves – 6/4

  • Salah has hit the target with 50% of his shots this season (35/70). That’s more than any other Liverpool player.
  • He’s averaging a goal or assist every 76 minutes in the league this season, the best rate of anyone to play at least 180 minutes this term.
  • Salah has 14 goal involvements (8 goals, 6 assists) in 13 league appearances against Brighton.

Pascal Gross to provide an assist – 9/2

  • No player has provided more assists in the Premier League this season than Gross (10).
  • The German winger ranks second for chances created (76).
  • He’s also one of two players, along with Fulham’s Andreas Pereira, to create 30+ chances from both open play (46) and set plays (30) this term.

Man City v Arsenal – Sunday, 31st March @ 16:30

It’s a mouth-watering clash to end the round as Arsenal travel to the Etihad to face title rivals Man City. Only a point separates them ahead of kick-off.

In all competitions, City are unbeaten at home since November 2022, a run of 38 games (W33 D5). That run includes a 4-1 victory over Arsenal last April.

Arsenal’s recent away form has seen the goals flow. They’ve netted 19 in the last four to boost their goal difference and give them the advantage in the title race.

Here are some top bets for Man City v Arsenal:

City to win to nil – 11/5

  • City have won 12 of their last 13 Premier League games against Arsenal.
  • Arsenal have lost each of their last seven league away games against City.
  • City are unbeaten in their last 38 home games in all competitions (W33 D5).

Arsenal over 2.5 match goals

  • Arsenal have scored 33 goals in their last eight league matches.
  • That’s an average of 4.1 per game.

De Bruyne & Havertz to score – 20/1 with Build #YourOdds

  • Kevin De Bruyne has scored more goals against Arsenal in all competitions (8) than he has against any other opponent for Man City.
  • Kai Havertz has scored in each of his last four league appearances, the only German player to score in four in a row in the competition’s history.
  • A goal in this one would see Havertz join Thierry Henry in scoring in five successive games in a debut season for the Gunners.
