| BY News Team

The 2023/24 Premier League season looks like being a classic for the ages as four teams appear set to battle it out for the title.

Liverpool took advantage of Arsenal’s wobble and sit top of the table heading into MW17. The Reds have a one-point advantage over the Gunners, while Aston Villa and Man City are only two and four points behind respectively.

This round of games kicks off tonight as fifth-placed Spurs travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest and their under-pressure boss Steve Cooper.

Man City, Newcastle and Chelsea are all in action tomorrow, while Sunday’s sees leaders Liverpool welcome fierce rivals Man Utd to Anfield.

As always, we’ll have great offers on all the action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more. And don’t forget, you’re Epic Boost will refresh on Sunday morning.

To get you ready, let’s look at three of this week’s Premier League matches…

Nottingham Forest v Spurs

City Ground

Friday, 15th December @ 20:00

Spurs looked back to their early-season best as they beat Newcastle 4-1 last time out. They’ll be confident of making it back-to-back wins when they travel to the City Ground tonight. Forest are winless in five (D1 L4) and looking over their shoulders.

Our football expert Nicole Holliday is backing Spurs to get the three points, with both sides scoring and Son Heung-min providing an assist. We’ve boosted her selection from 10/1 to 12/1.

Spurs have scored in each of their last 28 Premier League games, while Son has been involved in 14 goals in his last 13 league games – scoring 10 and assisting four.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have started games well this season and have scored first in a league-high 13 games. However, they’ve failed to win six of those (W7 D2 L4). Fancy history to repeat itself and Forest to come from behind to win? It’s 14/1.

Fans of tackles and cards should take a look at Cristian Romero. The Spurs centre-back has been shown two yellows and a red in his last three league games. Get 7/1 (was 5/1) on Romero to make over two tackles and be carded. He’s averaging 2.2 tackles per game this season.

Burnley v Everton

Turf Moor

Saturday, 16th December @ 17:30

Sean Dyche makes his first return to Burnley since leaving the Clarets in April 2022 on Saturday evening. Will he be leaving with all three points? Everton are 21/20 to get the win.

The Toffees go into the game in good form. They’ve won their last three Premier League games by an aggregate score of 6-0 and have won four of their last five on the road.

Dyche’s side have the third lowest expected goals (xG) against figure in the league (18.3), excluding penalties faced, with only Arsenal (11.6) and Man City (14.1) having lower. Get 23/10 on Everton winning to nil at Turf Moor.

Everton’s record at Burnley is not great, though, so there is reason for Vincent Kompany to be optimistic. The Clarets have beaten Everton at home more than they have any other Premier League side (W5 D1 L2).

We’ve boosted the price on Zeki Amdouni and Jay Rodriguez hitting the target in a Burnley win from 9/2 to 11/2.

A league-high 31% of Burnley’s goals this season have come from outside the box. Will Jordan Pickford be beaten from distance in this one? Joint-leading scorer Josh Brownhill is 14/1 to net from outside of the penalty area.

Liverpool v Man Utd

Anfield

Sunday, 17th December @ 16:30

Expect a red-hot atmosphere at Anfield on Sunday afternoon as leaders Liverpool entertain old foes Man Utd.

United were dumped out of Europe in midweek, leaving them to focus on reviving their flailing league form after last weekend’s home defeat to Bournemouth. United are 15/2 to bounce back with a win.

Anfield is not a happy hunting ground for United. They haven’t won any of their last seven visits in the Premier League (D3 L4), have conceded 11 goals in the last two and have failed to score in their last four away games against Liverpool. Get 7/4 on Jurgen Klopp’s side scoring four or more goals.

Mohamed Salah looks a good option for a goal. The Egypt international has scored 12 goals in 12 games against the Red Devils for Liverpool. Plus, he’s either scored or assisted a goal in each of his last 16 league games at Anfield. Nicole is backing Salah to have a shot on target and Liverpool to win by two or more goals. It’s 2/1 (was 6/4).

The last time United were on Merseyside, Alejandro Garnacho scored one of the all-time greatest Premier League goals against Everton. Will he be a thorn in Liverpool’s side too? Get 5/1 (was 4/1) on the forward having two or more efforts on target.
