With just two games left to play in the Premier League, there’s still so much to play for with several teams hunting down a European position for next season.

With the Europa League final taking place next Wednesday, the Premier League has moved two of this weekends fixtures to Friday night to aid both finalists, as Tottenham Hotspur travel to face Aston Villa and Manchester United travelling to West London to take on Chelsea.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Friday’s Premier League fixtures:

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur – Friday, 7.30pm

  • Aston Villa head into their last two Premier League fixtures in this campaign occupying sixth place but only out of the top five via goal difference, so they’ll welcome the fact that their remaining games are against two sides with priorities elsewhere (UEL Final).
  • Unai Emery’s side have bounced back from their disappointing results away at Man City and then in the FA Cup semi-final, with consecutive PL victories against both Fulham and Bournemouth.
  • Aston Villa were thumped 4-1 in the reverse fixture back in November but have since put that right with a 2-1 victory here at Villa Park back in February during their FA Cup campaign.
    ——————————–
  • It’s remarkable that Tottenham Hotspur are heading to a European final next week in Bilbao whilst sitting seventeenth in the Premier League, with twenty-defeats from their thirty-six league outings.
  • Spurs have had all their eggs in one basket for a while now and that’s definitely shown in recent weeks, their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday extended their winless run to five games in the league.
  • Despite losing just two of their last fifteen visits to Villa Park (W11, D2, L2), Ange Postecoglou will no doubt make lots of changes for this one ahead of their big European final on Wednesday, it could be a long night for the Lilywhites.

Prediction: Aston Villa To Win Both Halves & Aston Villa Most Corners In Each Half #YourOdds (11/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Chelsea v Manchester United – Friday, 8.15pm

  • With just two games left to play in the Premier League, Chelsea are holding on to eighth place but only via goal difference following their recent 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
  • Enzo Maresca’s side have got to travel to Nottingham Forest on the last game of the season which could be a straight-shootout for a UEFA Champions League spot, so they’ll be hoping they can ease past this Manchester United side on Friday night with their priorities elsewhere.
  • These two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in November, whilst Chelsea have won just one of their last eight meetings with United at Stamford Bridge, that came last season in a 4-3 victory that came with goals in the 100th and 101st minute.
    ——————————–
  • Manchester United will face Spurs in the Europa League final on Wednesday in Bilbao, which is mind-boggling given they sit sixteenth and seventeenth in the Premier League.
  • Ruben Amorim’s side suffered a seventeenth league defeat on Sunday afternoon at home to West Ham, extending their winless run in the English top-flight to seven games, whilst they’ve won just four of their eighteen away games in this PL campaign.
  • This should be fairly straight forward for Chelsea, with Manchester United expected to make several changes to the usual starting XI ahead of their big trip to San Mames on Wednesday.

Prediction: Chelsea To Win, Over 4 Cards, Over 10 Corners – #YourOdds (24/5 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
