Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Bournemouth v Wolves – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Wolves with William Hill
- Bournemouth showed some real fight in their first game of the season away to Liverpool, they fought back from 2-0 down and looked set to pick up a point against all the odds until two late goals from the current league champions meant they left Anfield with nothing to show for their efforts.
- Having sold the majority of their defence during the summer transfer window, the Cherries are starting to reinvest some of that money with the arrival of the talented Ben Doak, he’ll be hoping to get off to the perfect start in this one.
- The Cherries might find this one a bit of a struggle if history of this fixture is anything to go by, they’ve not beaten Wolves on home soil in any of their last six outings since becoming a Premier League outfit. (W0, D3, L3).
——————————– - More questions were asked about Wolves’ future in the English top-flight after their 4-0 thumping against Manchester City on Saturday evening, that defeat extended their winless run to nine games now across all competitions, with their last victory coming back in April against Leicester City.
- Having lost some key players during the transfer window, Vitor Pereira feels that he needs backing during the remainder of this transfer window but we’ll have to wait and see if he get’s his wish, one thing we know for sure is Wolves need to regain that winning feeling within camp.
- From the outside without diving into the history of this fixture, you’d expect Bournemouth to win this one but there’s just something about Wolves when they travel to Bournemouth, winning three of their last four Premier League meetings here.
Prediction: Evanilson To Score Assisted By Either Antoine Semenyo or Marcus Tavernier – #YourOdds (19/5 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Brentford v Aston Villa – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Brentford v Aston Villa with William Hill
- I’d be very worried if i was a Brentford fan right now, with the ‘unproven’ Keith Andrews taking over from the experienced Thomas Frank, along with losing some key players from last season, their 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest might be a sign of things to come in this campaign.
- With that being said, if you believe in history repeating itself then the Bees do have some hope for Saturday’s fixture, as they’ve never lost their first home league game in the English top-flight.
- However, Brentford will need to improve at the back if they are to get something out of this one, they’ve kept just one clean sheet in all of their home games across all competitions last season, a worrying stat.
——————————– - Aston Villa played their part in a below par Premier League game against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, the Villans produced just three shots all game and ended the game with an xG of just 0.20, although Unai Emery would of taken a point having had to play the last twenty or so minutes with a player less following Ezri Konsa’s red card.
- Saturday’s goalless draw means Villa have now gone back-to-back Premier League games without scoring for just the second time under Unai Emery, the good news for Villa is that it’s been over five years since they last failed to score in three consecutive league games.
- Aston Villa will be confident of picking up their first victory of the season here given they’re now unbeaten in their last six games against Brentford, with victories in four of those including both league fixtures last season.
Prediction: Ollie Watkins To Score Assisted By Either Morgan Rogers or John McGinn – #YourOdds (5/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Burnley v Sunderland – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Burnley v Sunderland with William Hill
- Burnley returned to the Premier League under Scott Parker after an unbelievable defensive record in the Championship but the Clarets showed the difference in class after shipping three away to Tottenham without reply.
- Scott Parker will make sure his side shift their focus swiftly onto this fixture as these are the games that they need to win if they are to stay in the top-flight this season, especially this early on in the season and in front of their own fans, it’s a big one.
- Burnley won just two games at Turf Moor during their last Premier League campaign but didn’t lose any of their twenty-three Championship games here last season, with these two sides drawing 0-0 back in January.
——————————– - Sunderland showed the PL that they aren’t here just to make up numbers after an impressive 3-0 victory against West Ham, resulting in the Black Cats ending the weekend in second place, just behind Manchester City.
- Just like for Burnley, victory here could be massive as they’ll extend their gap to their potential relegation rivals to six points and even at this early stage, it would feel big for Sunderland.
- Regis Le Bris has the chance to make history in this one, a win for his side Sunderland would see them win their first two games in the Premier League for the first time ever, although they’ve won just one of their last eight visits to Turf Moor.
Prediction: HT/FT – Draw/Sunderland (11/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Arsenal v Leeds United – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on Arsenal v Leeds United with William Hill
- Arsenal had a tough trip to Old Trafford in their curtain raiser on Sunday afternoon and despite not being at their best, they left Manchester with all three points and a real show of resilience, a perfect start for Mikel Arteta’s side.
- The Gunners return back to familiar surroundings on Saturday evening and will be expected to extend their brilliant run in the Premier League, Arteta’s team are undefeated in twenty-seven of their last twenty-nine league games.
- Arsenal also have a real psychological boost ahead of the visit of Leeds, they’ve not lost any of their last forty-two Premier League games on home soil against a newly-promoted side, victory here would become a new record.
——————————– - Leeds are another side that secured a 1-0 victory on the opening weekend but not without controversy after being awarded a late penalty for a dubious handball against Everton but Leeds won’t complain and are already up and running.
- The Whites have suffered some travel sickness in their league games away from Elland Road though, having won just one of their last thirteen away games in the Premier League.
- A trip to Arsenal is always a tough ask and Leeds haven’t won here since 2003, whilst they’ve lost twelve of the last fourteen meetings against the Gunners, they’ll have to defy the betting odds here if they are to get anything to take back to Yorkshire.
Prediction: Viktor Gyokeres Over 1 Shot On Target, Gabriel Magalhaes & Jayden Bogle Both To Be Carded – #YourOdds (22/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
