Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Chelsea v Fulham – Saturday, 12.30pm
Punters can bet on Chelsea v Fulham with William Hill
- Chelsea got themselves up and running in this new campaign after their goalless draw against Crystal Palace on matchday one was followed up with an emphatic 5-1 victory against another London side in West Ham on Friday evening.
- It wasn’t all good news though for Enzo Maresca on Friday night with Cole Palmer pulling up in the warm-up, he’s a major doubt for this one with the Blues unlikely to rush him back until after the upcoming International break.
- Chelsea have a really good record here at Stamford Bridge against their rivals, despite suffering a 2-1 defeat here back in December, the Blues hadn’t lost to Fulham on home soil prior to that since 1979.
——————————– - Fulham are still looking for their first win of the new Premier League campaign but they’ll take some real positives from their two stalemates so far, both of which seen Marco Silva’s side come back from a goal down, most recently against Manchester United.
- The Cottagers make the short trip on Saturday having seen themselves fail to score in just two of their last nineteen Premier League away games, although they’ve scored in just one of their last seven visits to Stamford Bridge.
- Fulham have gotten into a habit of having to come from behind in games to pick up points, it happened a lot last season and that trend has continued into this new campaign, if they fall behind in this one i think they’ll struggle.
Prediction: Joao Pedro – Enhanced Player to Assist (4/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Manchester United v Burnley – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Manchester United v Burnley with William Hill
- Manchester United return to Old Trafford still looking for their first win of the season having picked up just one point from a possible six so far, something that’s already a little concerning for some of the United faithful.
- Ruben Amorim will expect a lot more from his side on Saturday, not only because they return to familiar surroundings but the fact they face a newly-promoted side in Burnley that haven’t United in their last seven attempts.
- Manchester United hold a strong record against newly-promoted sides, having gone twenty-three games unbeaten (W20, D3) whilst they’ve lost just once here in their last twenty-five meetings against Burnley.
——————————– - Burnley really struggled on their return to the English top-flight after a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur but they returned to home soil to face Sunderland, a game that some pundits described as a potential six-pointer, even at this early stage.
- Scott Parker’s side made no mistake at Turf Moor beating the Black Cats 2-0 and picking up their first Premier League victory since March 2024, that was then followed up with a win against Derby County on Tuesday night in the EFL Cup.
- Burnley’s home form might be vital if they are to stay up this season, as they’ve won just one of their last eleven away trips in the PL, with nine of those games producing at least three goals.
Prediction: 2-3 Goals, 3-5 Cards & 8-11 Corners – #YourOdds (13/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Sunderland v Brentford – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Sunderland v Brentford with William Hill
- Sunderland couldn’t build on their emphatic 3-0 victory against West Ham in their curtain raiser, they travelled to fellow Premier League new-boys Burnley last weekend and suffered a 2-0 defeat, that was then followed up by an early cup exit from the EFL Cup at the hands of League One side Huddersfield.
- Like all the newly-promoted sides, i think their home form will be a real factor in terms of their chances of staying in the English top-flight this season, a victory here would secure consecutive home PL victories in their first two outings for the first time since the 2001/2002 campaign under Peter Reid.
- These two sides are yet to meet in the Premier League, this will be the 940th different fixture to be played in the top flight, whilst the Black Cats are yet to beat Brentford in their five meetings since 1992.
——————————– - With such a big change at Brentford over the summer months, including the arrival of Keith Andrews as the new manager, many thought that Brentford would really struggle this season but they’ve made a bright start to the new campaign.
- The Bees put their 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest behind them last weekend with an impressive 1-0 victory against Aston Villa before knocking Bournemouth out of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday evening.
- Brentford should at least find themselves on the scoresheet this weekend having scored in each of their last nine Premier League fixtures, whilst they’ve won all of their last eight games against promoted sides.
Prediction: Match Result and 3 or More Goals in the Match – Brentford (3/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Tottenham v Bournemouth with William Hill
- Despite quite a bit of disappointment following missing out on long-term target Eberechi Eze, Tottenham haven’t let that spill onto the pitch with consecutive victories against Burnley and Manchester City.
- The one thing that has impressed me since Thomas Frank’s arrival is the organisation of this Spurs side, we witnessed some bizarre football under Ange Postecoglou but the same squad are now showing they can adapt when they need to, that’s shown so far with two clean sheets and two wins.
- Tottenham should be confident of continuing their scoring streak in front of goal on Saturday, with the Lilywhites scoring at least two goals in seven of their last eight Premier League home games against Bournemouth.
——————————– - Bournemouth head to Tottenham on Saturday having picked up their first win of the season against Wolves last weekend, although they did suffer another early cup exit on Tuesday night after a 2-0 defeat to Brentford in the EFL Cup.
- The Cherries are likely to set up as they did in their opener against Liverpool with a similar gameplan, they’ll be hoping to find gaps in this Spurs defence and exploit those on the counter-attack.
- Bournemouth have always got a chance with their style of play but history of this fixture suggests they may struggle here, they’ve picked up just three wins in their previous sixteen meetings against Spurs.
Prediction: Come From Behind And Win – Tottenham (15/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Wolves v Everton – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Wolves v Everton with William Hill
- Wolves head into this weekend in the bottom three at this early stage after back-to-back defeats, a sight that their faithful will be hoping doesn’t become a regular occurrence throughout the next nine months but their confidence has been boosted since.
- The Old Gold were just ten minutes from exiting the EFL Cup on Tuesday night against fellow struggles West Ham United but a brace from Jorgen Strand Larsen secured their 3-2 victory and a spot in the next round.
- Wolves have actually won five of the last eight meetings between these two sides, whilst they also lost just one of their last eight meetings against Everton on home soil.
——————————– - Everton bounced back perfectly from their opening day defeat with a 2-0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion, a victory that will help settle them in nicely at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, although they did still give up chances.
- Jack Grealish got his first start on Sunday for the Toffees and showed exactly why David Moyes was eager to bring him in after providing two assists, whilst the arrival of Tyler Dibling is another exciting signing for the Blues.
- The Toffees have a brilliant defensive record in recent away games in the Premier League, they’ve conceded more than one goal in just one of their last thirteen away trips in the league, solid.
Prediction: Wolves HT/Draw FT (14/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Leeds United v Newcastle United – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on Leeds United v Newcastle United with William Hill
- Leeds United started their campaign back in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory against Everton at Elland Road but a trip to Arsenal on Saturday evening wasn’t as pleasant for their faithful, suffering a 5-0 defeat before a humiliating defeat to Sheffield Wednesday’s youngsters in the EFL Cup.
- That defeat in North London extended Leeds United’s winless run away from home in the Premier League to fourteen games, so a return to a rowdy Elland Road on Saturday night will be welcomed for Daniel Farke’s side, where they are unbeaten in twenty-one league games.
- I’m looking forward to this one, two big clubs battling it out for three points and given Leeds have seen seven of their last eight Premier League produce both teams to score on home soil, i think we’re in for another cracker.
——————————– - Newcastle United are still winless in this new campaign but their performance against Liverpool on Monday evening showed this group of players really are playing for the badge, unlike Alexander Isak who still refuses to play at all.
- The Magpies came from two goals behind with just ten men against the Champions and even looked like they could go on to take all three points until conceding a 100th minute equaliser which ultimately came against the run of play.
- Eddie Howe will be without Anthony Gordon on Saturday night after his red card which gives him another headache in terms of attacking threat but they’ll take confidence from the fact they’ve won each of their eight games against newly-promoted sides.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score in Both Halves – Yes (11/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
