With just two games left to play in the Premier League, there’s still so much to play for with several teams hunting down a European position for next season.

The Premier League has five games on offer throughout Sunday afternoon, we start the day at Goodison Park for the final time, Everton have played here since 1892 and it’ll be an emotional day for the Toffees, they face Southampton with the hope of leaving their beloved home with a victory.

Nottingham Forest continue their top five hunt when they travel to West Ham, whilst two West London sides go head-to-head in a battle for a top eight spot as Fulham make the short trip to Brentford. Elsewhere, with just goal difference separating the two sides, Leicester City welcome Ipswich Town to the King Power Stadium, with both sides looking to end their campaign in eighteenth.

Later that afternoon, Arsenal will face Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium, with the Magpies looking to leapfrog the gunners into second with a win.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Sunday’s Premier League fixtures:

Everton v Southampton – Sunday, 12pm

  • It’s going to be an emotional day for Evertonians, this will be their 2,791st game at Goodison Park but also their last, with the Blues moving to their new stadium next season.
  • The Toffees will want nothing less than three points in this one and sign off their long stay at this iconic stadium in the best way possible, that should be a real possibility given they welcome the worst side in this Premier League campaign.
  • With that being said, Everton have struggled against the Saints in recent times, they lost the reverse fixture 1-0 back in November and have only beaten them once in their last five outings.
    ——————————–
  • Southampton travel to Merseyside looking to spoil the celebrations, although even if the Saints won both of their remaining two games, they will still finish bottom after this dismal campaign.
  • The Saints surprised everybody last weekend with a goalless draw against Manchester City but they are still yet to build on any positive result so far in the league, this could be the first time they pick up back-to-back points during the Premier League this season.
  • This is the third game between these two sides already this season, Southampton knocked Everton out of the EFL Cup here back in September, whilst one of their two wins this season did come in the reverse fixture.

Prediction: Beto To Score First (10/3 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

West Ham United v Nottingham Forest – Sunday, 2.15pm

  • West Ham put an end to their miserable run of form on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 victory away to Manchester United, a result which moved the Hammers up to fifteenth after a horrible season.
  • The Irons will be wanting to end the season strongly and build on that result but they’ve only managed to win consecutive Premier League games once so far in this campaign.
  • The biggest issue for Graham Potters side right now is keeping clean sheets, they’ve conceded at least one goal in sixteen of their eighteen games so far this season on home soil (89%).
    ——————————–
  • In a week which should have been full of celebration for Nottingham Forest after securing European football for the first time in 30 years, it’s actually been the total opposite.
  • A 2-2 draw with already relegated Leicester City on Sunday put a huge dent in their UEFA Champions League dreams, with the tricky Trees now a point behind the top five with just two games remaining. This was before striker Taiwo Awoniyi was placed in an induced coma following a collision with the post.
  • Forest wont give up easy on a UCL spot but they have it all to do, the good news for them is they’ve won nine of their league games away from home this season (50%), only Liverpool have won more (11).

Prediction: Chris Wood To Score Assisted By Either Anthony Elanga or Morgan Gibbs-White – #YourOdds (19/5 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Brentford v Fulham – Sunday, 3pm

  • Brentford seem to have come out of nowhere to now lead the pack who are chasing for that eighth place in the league which has the potential to become a UEFA Conference League spot.
  • Thomas Frank’s side have won each of their last four games in the Premier League and sit in eighth via goal difference ahead of this weekends action, a fifth win in a row here would be Brentford’s first in the top-flight since 1939.
  • Of course, this is a West London derby and the meetings in the Premier League between the two sides have been fairly even, they’ve met five times in the English top-flight since 2022 and both sides have won two each and played out a stalemate.
    ——————————–
  • Fulham almost look to be running out of steam as they head towards the end of this Premier League campaign, the cottagers have won just one of their last five league games, suffering defeats in the other four.
  • It’s the type of form that will punish you at this stage of the season and that’s exactly what’s happened with Marco Silva’s side, now four points off the top eight, any European dreams look over.
  • Fulham won the reverse fixture 2-1 back in November but have won just once away at Brentford in their last eight visits, whilst one away win in their last five road trips won’t fill the side with too much confidence.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score A Header #YourOdds (10/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Leicester City v Ipswich Town – Sunday, 3pm

  • Leicester City have started to put together some decent performances in recent weeks but it’s far too late having already had their fate sealed.
  • A 2-0 victory against Southampton was followed up with an impressive 2-2 draw away to rivals Nottingham Forest on Sunday, a victory here would move the Foxes above Ipswich Town into eighteenth.
  • With all that being said, the real focus here will be on Jamie Vardy, with the 38-year old set to play his last game for the Foxes after 13 years in which he picked up a Premier League and an FA Cup medal, Vardy will be hoping to have one last party at the King Power Stadium.
    ——————————–
  • On the other hand, Ipswich Town have been in a bit of freefall with just one win in their last seventeen Premier League outings.
  • Kieran McKenna looks set to remain in charge of the Tractor Boys and will already be preparing for life back in the EFL Championship, whilst ending their PL road trips with a victory here would go a long way in securing extra money for Ipswich Town.
  • However, Ipswich Town have quite a poor record against Leicester City, the last three meetings between the two sides have all ended in a 1-1 draw and the Tractor Boys haven’t beaten the Foxes away from home since 2002.

Prediction: Jamie Vardy To Score & Be Shown A Card – Bet Builder Hub (5/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Arsenal v Newcastle United – Sunday, 4.30pm

  • Arsenal looked certain to finish the Premier League in second place for the third year in a row but their form has really dropped in between the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and now Mikel Arteta’s side are under a little bit of pressure.
  • Despite just one win in their last six Premier League games, in all honesty the Gunners are set to confirm their place in the UCL for next season, a point here would secure that.
  • The Gunners have actually lost three times already this season to the Magpies but history of this fixture suggests Arteta’s side should get a little bit of revenge on Sunday, with Arsenal’s unbeaten record in this meeting (Premier League) now at twelve games when they are playing as the home side.
    ——————————–
  • It’s been a remarkable season for Newcastle United, after ending their long wait for a domestic trophy, Eddie Howe’s side are now on the verge of securing UEFA Champions League football after a brilliant run of form.
  • The Magpies extended their spot from sixth place after their 2-0 victory against fellow UCL hopefuls Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, they’ve put themselves in a really strong position with two games left to play.
  • Despite a poor Premier League record away to Arsenal, Eddie Howe and co will take some confidence from the fact they turned up here in January and beat the Gunners 2-0 on their way to their EFL cup success.

Prediction: Martin Odegaard To Assist A Goal – Price Boost (5/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
