Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:
Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester City – Sunday 2pm
Punters can bet on Brighton v Manchester City with William Hill
- Brighton & Hove Albion are one of eight sides that are still looking for their first Premier League win of the season, their 1-1 draw with Fulham on the opening day was followed up with a miserable trip to Everton where they suffered a 2-0 defeat, despite creating quite a few golden chances.
- However, Fabian Hurzeler’s side will be boosted by their performance in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, a 6-0 victory away to Championship side Oxford United to book their spot in the next round.
- The Seagulls beat Manchester City in the last meeting here back in November but they’ve won just two of their last eight Premier League meetings on home soil against Pep Guardiola’s side (W2, D1, L5).
——————————– - After looking back to their usual selves in their opening fixture away to Wolves, Manchester City were then brought back down to reality last Saturday after their 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.
- Pep Guardiola will demand that his side bounce back in style on Sunday on the South Coast, they should at least find the back of the net here as Brighton have conceded in each of their last eight league games at the Amex.
- Seven of the last nine meetings between these two sides in the Premier League have seen both teams on the scoresheet, i wouldn’t be surprised to see the same occur on Sunday but i’m backing Manchester City to get this one over the line.
Prediction: Erling Haaland to score 2 or more goals (24/5 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Nottingham Forest v West Ham – Sunday 2pm
Punters can bet on Nottingham Forest v West Ham with William Hill
- It’s a strange time right now for Nottingham Forest, despite securing European football last season against all the odds and making an unbeaten start this season (W1, D1), manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s future at the club is in doubt.
- Parking all that to one side for the moment, Nottingham Forest have the chance to secure consecutive victories at the City Ground at the start of an English top-flight campaign for the first time since the 1984/1985 season.
- The Tricky Trees also hold an impressive record on home soil against Sunday’s visitors, having won each of their last four meetings in all competitions, all of which whilst keeping a clean sheet on the day.
——————————– - West Ham United really is a toxic club right now and it seems like the exit door is now in view for Graham Potter, with the International break on the horizon, another defeat here and the hierarchy will have a serious decision to make.
- The Hammers have started their campaign with three defeats, their 3-0 defeat on the opening weekend against Sunderland was then followed up with a 5-1 thumping against Chelsea, before failing to see out their 2-1 lead against Wolves in the Carabao Cup with just ten minutes left to play.
- I can’t see this West Ham side improving here in Nottingham on Sunday, i think we’ll see more of the same from Graham Potter’s side with the Tricky Trees picking up all three points and piling the pressure on.
Prediction: Each Team Over 1 Corner In Each Half – #YourOdds (3/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Aston Villa v Crystal Palace – Sunday, 7pm
Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Crystal Palace with William Hill
- After another solid campaign last season, Aston Villa have started this one very slowly, not only have Unai Emery’s side failed to win either of their first two games thus far, they’ve also failed to find the back of the net.
- The good news for Villa is that they return to familiar surroundings after their defeat at Brentford last week, they’ve not lost any of their last twenty-two games in all competitions at Villa Park, their last defeat here came back in October against no other than Crystal Palace.
- Having said all that, Unai Emery will be aware of Villa’s record against the Eagles, having not won any of their last five meetings, their last victory came back in 2023.
——————————– - Sunday will be a real test for Crystal Palace, not just because Villa Park is a tough place to go but the fact they’ll be heading there off the back of their first ever European away trip, something that the majority of those players haven’t been used to.
- Oliver Glasner’s side have started their Premier League campaign with two stalemates against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, whilst that won’t please the Austrian too much, it’s already an improvement on their start last season.
- The Eagles have won four of their last five meetings against Villa but haven’t won here at Villa Park in their last eight league meetings, with their trip to Norway on Thursday night thrown into the mix, i think we’ll see Aston Villa edge this one.
Prediction: Crystal Palace To Have A Corner In All 4 Corners Of The Pitch – #YourOdds (11/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
