Premier League Predictions for Tuesday 20th May

Gianluigi Donnarumma

With just two games left to play in the Premier League, there’s still so much to play for with several teams hunting down a European position for next season.

Following their FA Cup final on Saturday, Crystal Palace welcome Wolves to Selhurst Park on Tuesday evening in the Premier League, whilst Manchester City are also playing catch up, they face Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some football betting angles for Tuesday’s Premier League fixtures:

Crystal Palace v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Tuesday, 8pm

  • It was a historic weekend for Crystal Palace who picked up their first ever major trophy with a 1-0 victory against Manchester City in the FA Cup and it was fully deserved, the camp will still be buzzing as they turn their focus back on the Premier League.
  • An FA Cup triumph also means the Eagles will be playing European football next season for the first time, as they’ve secured their place in the UEFA Europa League next season.
  • Palace return to Selhurst Park where they’ve not lost a game here in their last seven across all competitions, they also hold an impressive record here against Wolves, having won each of their last four Premier League meetings here.
    ——————————–
  • Wolves will be hoping their opponents are still in celebratory mood on Tuesday evening, as they look for their first win here in South London since their 1-0 victory back in 2018.
  • The Old Gold will also want to put an end to their miserable end to the last eight seasons on the road, having lost each of their last eight final away games.
  • If Wolves are going to win this, it’s likely that they’ll need to score at least two goals, as they’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in fifteen of their eighteen PL away games so far this season.

Prediction: Jean-Philippe Mateta To Score Assisted By Either Eberechi Eze or Ismaila Sarr  #YourOdds (6/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Manchester City v Bournemouth – Tuesday, 8pm

  • Manchester City lost their second FA Cup final in a row on Saturday after their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, the defeats confirms City will be trophyless this season for the first time since 2016/2017.
  • Pep Guardiola’s side cannot afford to feel sorry for themselves at this stage of the season, they’ve still got work to do in the Premier League to secure a UEFA Champions League spot for next season, City sit outside of the top five following this weekends PL results, although they’ve played a game less and victory here would see them move up to third, fine margins.
  • Despite losing the reverse fixture 2-1 back in November, it’s a fixture that tends to favour Manchester City, beating the Cherries just two months ago in the FA Cup, they’ve won all of their eight Premier League meetings against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium.
    ——————————–
  • Bournemouth haven’t played since their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on the 10th May, the Cherries have dropped down to eleventh in the Premier League following results over the weekend but just four points off eighth, a European spot isn’t out of the question just yet.
  • Andoni Iraola’s side have lost just one of their last thirteen away games across all competitions which includes visits to Man United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal but they are yet to win here at the Etihad Stadium.
  • As mentioned, history of this fixture really does favour the home side here and i think it’ll play it’s part in this one as well, City should bounce back in this one given they’ve got a lot more to play for with just two games remaining.

Prediction: Come From Behind And Win – Man City (13/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
