Final One Standing

Fewer than 2000 people remain in William Hill’s free-to-play Final One Standing £500k jackpot game.

Gameweek 12’s results saw eliminate 33.1% of remaining players; Liverpool, Bournemouth & Man Utd most costly were the most costly sides.

Just shy of 300,000 players entered in Gameweek 1, and only a fraction of that original group remains after the latest round of fixtures. The weekend proved to be another brutal stage of eliminations. Liverpool’s unexpected loss to Nottingham Forest, combined with Bournemouth’s disappointing home draw and Manchester United’s defeat to Everton, collectively wiped out 31.0% of the players who were still alive going into the round.

On top of that, those who placed their trust in West Ham, Brentford, Sunderland, Wolves, Manchester City, and Leeds were also removed from contention, pushing the overall elimination total to 33.1%.

Interestingly, players managed to avoid taking losses on both Spurs and Burnley. Although both teams were potential traps given recent form, neither was selected by any of the 2,504 remaining players in Gameweek 12, which meant no surprise casualties came from those fixtures. The cautious approach paid off for many, ensuring that the competition remains tight as the pool continues to shrink.

While just over 1,600 people still remain in the prestigious £500k game, the journey doesn’t end for those who were knocked out this week. A wide range of other free-to-play contests is still available, featuring jackpots that span from £10,000 to £200,000.

These additional games ensure that even those who fell short in the main event still have a genuine opportunity to secure a significant cash prize. With more fixtures ahead and plenty of unpredictability left in the season, every remaining player and every new entry, still has something meaningful to play for.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Our free-to-play Final One Standing game has proved a real hit with Premier League fans, with just under 300,000 people signing up for the £500k jackpot game.

“Now, after 12 gameweeks, fewer than 2000 players remain in the race for the half-a-million prize. Liverpool, Bournemouth and Manchester United were the real killers this week, taking out nearly a third of the 2504 players who had made it to gameweek 12.

“We’re approaching the business end of the competition now and with all players having used over half of the teams, this is where long-term planning will pay dividends. Somewhere in the remaining group is our winner and it won’t be long before they are crowned.”
