With just five games left to play in this campaign, the Premier League has reached the business end of proceedings, with still so much to play for in the English top-flight.
@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the Premier League..
The Premier League action on Saturday gets underway at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea welcoming Everton in the early kick-off (12.30pm).
Elsewhere, Brighton look to bounce back against West Ham, Newcastle United could seal Ipswich Town’s fate in terms of Premier League relegation, already relegated Southampton take on Fulham looking to end their campaign strongly, whilst Wolves also take on another relegated side when they welcome Leicester City to Molineux, all of which kick-off at 3pm.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:
Chelsea v Everton – Saturday, 12.30pm
- Chelsea kept their top five hopes alive on Sunday afternoon but they left it late, a 93rd minute goal from Pedro Neto gave the Blues all three points against their rivals Fulham, they remain in sixth place but just two points off Newcastle in fifth.
- The Blues lost their last outing here at Stamford Bridge against Legia Warsaw, they haven’t lost consecutive games on home soil since September 2023.
- Chelsea could have one eye on their trip to Sweden next week as they continue their UEFA Conference League campaign but with so much still up for grabs in the league, Enzo Maresca should field a strong side here.
——————————– - Having beaten Nottingham Forest with a last minute goal, Everton failed to build on that win against another UCL chasing side, losing 2-0 against Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
- That defeat is just the second defeat in Everton’s last thirteen games in the Premier League, Everton have won back-to-back away games in the Premier League just once since December 2023.
- Despite a good run under David Moyes, this might be a little too much for Everton if history is anything to go by as they’ve not beaten Chelsea away from home in their last twenty-nine Premier League meetings, with their last victory coming back in 1994.
Prediction: Chelsea To Win To Nil, Chelsea Most Corners & Chelsea Most Shots On Target – #YourOdds (3/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham – Saturday, 3pm
- Its looking likely that the Premier League will be rewarded with another European spot for next season, that’s given Brighton a huge opportunity to potentially secure another European campaign for their faithful to enjoy.
- However, Fabian Hurzeler’s side have really hit a poor run of form at the worst possible time, a 4-2 defeat for the Seagulls away to Brentford extended their winless run to six games across all competitions, leaving them in tenth but still only a point off that potential precious eighth spot.
- Since Brighton have been in the English top-flight, they’ve lost just one of their fifteen meetings with West Ham although it’s a fixture that also likes to end in a stalemate, with both sides sharing the points in eight of those fifteen games.
——————————– - It’s been a dismal campaign for West Ham and the appointment of Graham Potter hasn’t made much of a difference, the Hammers remain seventeenth in the league with just five games left to play.
- Luckily for the Irons, they will have enough to stay up in the Premier League given their fifteen point cushion, but it’s really concerning especially given they failed to see out their last game against one of the worst Premier League side’s we’ve ever seen in Southampton (1-1).
- West Ham have won just one of their last eight away games in all competitions, both sides are in really poor form but i’m going to back Brighton to just edge this one.
Prediction: Danny Welbeck To Score 1st, West Ham Most Cards, Brighton Most Corners– #YourOdds (12/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Newcastle United v Ipswich Town – Saturday, 3pm
- Newcastle United’s six game winning streak in all competitions came to end with a real bang on Saturday evening having suffered a 4-1 defeat away to fellow UEFA Champions League chasers Aston Villa, they now occupy the final UCL spot prior to this weekends action.
- The last thing the Magpies will want to do is dwell on that defeat, so welcoming struggling Ipswich Town who are likely to be relegated this weekend could be the perfect game for Eddie Howe’s side to bounce back.
- The Magpies have won four Premier League games in a row on home soil, three of which also produced both teams to score.
——————————– - Ipswich Town need to win at St James’ Park to delay confirmation of their relegation and that might not even be enough depending on the result between Brighton and West Ham, with the Hammers only needing a point.
- The Tractor Boys will be hoping to end their Premier League campaign on a high and they were on their way of doing just that with a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea, that was before a 4-0 thumping on home soil against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
- Ipswich lost the reverse fixture 4-0 back in December, they haven’t won at St James’ Park in their last eleven visits, with their last victory here coming back in 1984.
Prediction: Come From Behind And Win – Newcastle (13/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Southampton v Fulham – Saturday, 3pm
- Southampton already have the unwanted record of becoming the side to suffer the earliest relegation the Premier League has seen but following their 1-1 draw with West Ham on Saturday, they need just one more point to surpass Derby County’s record of just eleven points.
- Despite that unlikely draw on Saturday, it’s still hard to put a case together for the Saints given they’ve won just one of their sixteen home games so far, picking up just five points from a possible forty-eight.
- However, history does favour the Saints in this fixture having won three of their last four meetings against Fulham on the South Coast.
——————————– - Despite consecutive Premier League defeats against Bournemouth and Chelsea, the Cottagers still remain in with a chance of securing a European spot, they sit ninth in the league with only one point separating them from Bournemouth in eighth.
- Fulham haven’t won any of their last three Premier League games away from home, they’ve not lost four on the bounce since November/December 2023.
- No side has seen both teams score in the Premier League more than Fulham in this campaign, with twenty-four of their thirty-three games producing the BTTS (73%).
Prediction: Win Both Halves – Fulham (16/5 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Leicester City – Saturday, 3pm
- Wolverhampton Wanderers have been fantastic under Vitor Pereira, the Old Gold had been under real pressure in terms of Premier League safety before his arrival, they now sit fifteenth and have secured PL football for another season.
- Wolves beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in their last outing on Sunday afternoon, their 1-0 victory made it five wins in a row in the English top-flight for the first time since 1971, a real compliment to the work that Pereira has done.
- Wolves won the reverse fixture 3-0 back in December but the last time these two sides met at Molineux didn’t go to plan for the home side, suffering a 4-0 defeat back in 2022, they got a real chance to put that right here.
——————————– - Leicester City’s defeat against the inevitable Premier League champions Liverpool on Sunday was enough to see the Foxes’ fate sealed as they suffered relegation to the EFL Championship.
- It’s all about playing for pride now for Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side but it’s going to be difficult, especially if their recent away record in all competitions is anything to go by (W1, D2, L11).
- As mentioned, Leicester City won 4-0 the last time they visited Molineux but that remains their only win here in their last eight visits in all competitions (within 90 minutes).
Prediction: Matheus Cunha To Score, Nelson Semedo & Boubakary Soumare Both To Be Carded – #YourOdds (40/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
