Premier League Predictions for Saturday 3rd May

With just four games left to play in the Premier League, there’s still so much to play for with several teams hunting down a European position for next season.
The Premier League action on Saturday gets underway at Villa Park, with Aston Villa taking on Fulham in a huge fixture in terms of the top seven (12.30pm).
Elsewhere, it’s the penultimate game at Goodison Park for Everton who take on Ipswich Town, the bottom two clash at the King Power with Leicester City facing Southampton before Arsenal and Bournemouth battle it out for three points in the late kick-off.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:
Aston Villa v Fulham – Saturday, 12.30pm
- It’s been a tough week for Aston Villa after having lots of potential, a late minute defeat to Manchester City hampered their top five hopes in the Premier League and they followed that up with a thumping 3-0 defeat in the FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace.
- Villa must bounce back here if they have any chance of securing a UEFA Champions League spot for next season, they remain three points from the top five, defeat here and that could be it for Unai Emery’s side.
- Aston Villa should be confident of bouncing back in this one, they’ve won their last four meetings against Fulham, they’ve not lost here in their last nineteen games in all competitions.
——————————– - Fulham’s hopes of a top seven finish looked to have disappeared following back-to-back Premier League defeats but a late minute winner against Southampton on Saturday afternoon have moved the Cottagers to within six points of Villa in seventh.
- With four games left to play, it’s definitely achievable for Marco Silva’s side but you feel they’ll need to win this one, they’ll have to do something they’ve not done since 2014, win at Villa Park.
- It’s a fixture that tends to produce goals, with seven of the last eight competitive meetings between these two sides producing at least three goals, whilst Fulham have seen 74% of their league games this season produce both teams to score.
Prediction: Ollie Watkins To Score Assisted By Morgan Rogers – #YourOdds (17/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Everton v Ipswich Town – Saturday, 3pm
- This will be an emotional game for Everton fans, as they host their last ever 3pm kick-off game at Goodison Park ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season, they’ll be hoping to pick up their first home win since the start of February.
- The honeymoon period looks to be over for David Moyes with his side picking up just one win in their last nine games in all competitions, a victory here though could see the Toffees move up to thirteenth place in the Premier League, if results elsewhere go in their favour.
- Without a win in their last six games at Goodison Park, the Blues will fancy their chances of changing that poor form in this one, they won the reverse fixture 2-0 back in October.
——————————– - Having already had their fate sealed, it’s simply a case of playing for pride for Ipswich Town as they hope to end their Premier League era with as many wins as possible, they’ve got four games remaining.
- Kieran McKenna’s side haven’t been able to build on their brilliant 2-1 victory away to Bournemouth at the start of April, they are now winless in their last four (W0, D1, L3) and head to Merseyside off the back of to heavy victories to Arsenal (0-4) and Newcastle (3-0).
- Ipswich Town have taken fourteen points from their twenty-one league points so far whilst being on the road and despite not playing here since 2002, they’ve actually won their last two visits to Goodison Park.
Prediction: Under 1.5 goals (5/2 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Leicester City v Southampton – Saturday, 3pm
- This fixture had the potential to be a real “six pointer” with just four games left to go but that isn’t the case, with both sides already having their relegation confirmed and they’ll both be playing Championship football next season.
- Thing’s just haven’t worked out for Ruud van Nistelrooy since taking over Leicester City, it’s more than likely that the Dutchman will be sacked at the end of the season and he won’t be the only one departing, with Jamie Vardy also leaving the club.
- The Foxes haven’t won a Premier League game on home soil since the start of December, they’ve suffered a defeat in each of their last nine home league games, this is a good chance to put a stop to that.
——————————– - Southampton sit bottom of the Premier League and still need one more point to beat Derby County’s awful record of eleven points from an entire Premier League season, they are running out of time.
- They’ll still go down in the history books as one of the worst sides the Premier League have seen but they were just moments away from securing that twelfth point last weekend against Fulham but a late goal confirmed another defeat for the Saints.
- It took a last minute winner from Jordan Ayew to split these two sides in the reverse fixture back in October, six of their last eight meetings have seen both teams find the back of the net.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score In Both Halves (10/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
Arsenal v Bournemouth – Saturday, 5.30pm
- Despite three draws in their last four Premier League games, it’s looking likely that Arsenal will still finish second and victory in this one could all but secure it you’d feel.
- The Gunners return to the Emirates after their 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night, they remain in the tie but will need to play much better if they are overturn the deficit in Paris next week.
- Arsenal’s loss to West Ham in February remains their only Premier League loss on home soil during this campaign, the Gunners have won all of their seven meetings against Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.
——————————– - Bournemouth were left frustrated on Sunday against Manchester United, having lead the game for the majority, they found themselves controversially down to ten men after Evanilson was shown a straight red card following a slip, they ended up drawing the game 1-1.
- The Bournemouth striker has since had his red card rescinded and will be available for this trip to North London but you do wonder how much that will have an impact on the Cherries’ top eight goal.
- Bournemouth defied the betting odds in the reverse fixture back in October with a 2-0 victory on the south coast, that remains their only victory against Arsenal since 2018.
Prediction: Evanilson To Score Assisted By Either Justin Kluivert or Antoine Semenyo (11/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
