With just four games left to play in the Premier League, there’s still so much to play for with several teams hunting down a European position for next season.

The Premier League action on Sunday gets underway at 2pm across the country, fresh off their trip to Bilbao, Manchester United are back on the road again as they face Brentford. Elsewhere, Newcastle travel to the south coast to face Brighton, whilst East London meets North London with West Ham taking on rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Later on Sunday evening, Chelsea welcome champions Liverpool to Stamford Bridge, with the game getting underway at 4.30pm.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Sunday’s Premier League fixtures:

Brentford v Manchester United – Sunday, 2pm

  • It’s quite possible that the Premier League could receive another European spot, meaning eighth place would become much more valuable and Brentford are giving themselves a real chance of being the team to claim it.
  • The Bees come into this one off the back of an impressive 2-0 victory away to high-flying Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening, making it consecutive victories in the league for the first time since February and moving them to within two points of their neighbours Fulham who occupy eighth place.
  • A victory in this one on Sunday would give the Bees three league wins in a row, something they’ve not manage to do since October/November 2023, they’ve beaten United just once in their previous seven meetings.
    ——————————–
  • Things couldn’t of worked out any better for Manchester United on Thursday, travelling to San Mames to face Athletic Club in a semi-final was always going to be difficult but after taking the lead through Casemiro, their night got better when Dani Vivian was shown a straight red card, with United capitalising and going into the break with a 3-0 lead.
  • It’s hard to criticise Ruben Amorim’s sides performance in Bilbao as they’ve well and truly got one foot in the UEFA Europa League final but there might be a bit of the Portuguese boss that would have liked another goal or two given the circumstance.
  • United could rotate their line-up for this one head of the second leg on Thursday but it shouldn’t be too dissimilar given certain injuries, i think we’ll see another entertaining game between the two sides.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score In Both Halves – (11/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

Brighton & Hove Albion v Newcastle United – Sunday, 2pm

  • Brighton put an end to their five game winless run on Saturday and in style, having trailed West Ham 2-1 with just seven minutes left to play, the Seagulls found goals in the 89th and 92nd minute to secure a vital three points.
  • Saturday’s victory has kept Brighton’s dreams alive in terms of another European campaign, they sit in ninth place and only behind Fulham in eighth on goal difference but given how tight it is around that area of the league, any slip-ups from now on could be disastrous for Fabian Hurzeler’s side.
  • This is the third meeting this season between the two sides, Brighton won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in October but then also knocked Newcastle out of the FA Cup two months ago, whilst they remain unbeaten here against the Magpies in their last seven games. (W3 D4 L0).
    ——————————–
  • Following a concerning 4-1 defeat away to Aston Villa, Newcastle bounced back on Saturday with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Ipswich Town, strengthening their position within the top five.
  • Eddie Howe’s side head to the south coast sitting in third (at the time of writing) with just four games remaining but that doesn’t tell the full story given they are just two points from sixth and will be well aware of how congested the top six is right now.
  • With the added pressure of the likelihood that any mistakes now will be capitalised on, the Magpies won’t like the fact that they’ve beaten Brighton away from home just once in their last twelve visits, their last victory here came back in 2017 when both sides were playing in the EFL Championship.

Prediction: Danny Welbeck To Score Assisted By Kaoru Mitoma – #YourOdds (20/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)

West Ham v Tottenham Hotspur – Sunday, 2pm

  • Graham Potter was left fuming after his sides 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Saturday afternoon, you get a feeling that’s a lot of frustration that been building up throughout his time in charge of West Ham, given he’s won just three of his fifteen games in charge so far.
  • There’s no doubt much more will be expected from Graham Potter and his side next season, they remain seventeenth in the Premier League and would have been fighting for survival had the three promoted teams not been so poor this season, it’s been a poor campaign for the Hammers.
  • Having said all that, victory in this one would move them ahead of their rivals Tottenham, only one point separates the two sides and right now, the Irons will take any bragging rights they can. It’s worth noting that five of the last six competitive meetings between these two sides in East London has seen both teams on the scoresheet.
    ——————————–
  • Tottenham Hotspur picked up their nineteenth league defeat after their 5-1 hammering away to Liverpool last Sunday, only the bottom three sides have suffered more defeats this season, that shows in the table with Spurs currently sixteenth.
  • However, i’m sure all will be forgiven if Ange Postecoglou guides his side to the Europa League trophy, the Lilywhites have got one foot in the final following their 3-1 victory against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt on Thursday evening.
  • Ange made a bold statement during this season that he always wins something in his second season, only time will tell on that but there’s no doubt all their eggs are in one basket now in terms of the UEL, these league fixtures could just become a hindrance.

Prediction: Jarrod Bowen & Dominic Solanke Both To Score & Each Team Over 1 Card – #YourOdds (16/1 – *odds subject to change – prices correct at the time of writing*)
