Premier League Betting Tips for Manchester United v Newcastle

Manchester United Old Trafford

This midweek will see the Premier League get underway for Gameweek eighteen of this campaign, with the table starting to take shape and a few teams already upsetting the apple cart, we’re all set for another weekend of pure PL drama.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..

All eyes will be on Manchester as the Premier League returns after Christmas with a Boxing Day classic, it’s Manchester United v Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Friday’s fixture:

Manchester United v Newcastle United – Friday, 8pm

Punters can bet on Manchester United v Newcastle with William Hill.

  • Manchester United must really be kicking themselves in recent weeks, Ruben Amorim’s side should have won their outing against Bournemouth but could only take a point in the 4-4 draw, they travelled to Villa on Sunday and lost 2-1, despite arguably being the better side once again.
  • Manchester United have also been handed an additional blow with Bruno Fernandes unable to continue for the second half on Sunday, that’s in addition to the absence of key players including Amad & Mbuemo who miss this game due to AFCON.
  • No side in the Premier League have seen more games produce BTTS than Manchester United, thirteen of their seventeen outings have seen goals for both sides, whilst the same has occurred in nine of their last ten Premier League games.
    ——————————–
  • Newcastle were on their way to a much needed Premier League victory against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon after going into half-time with a two goal lead. However, the Magpies failed to see out the lead and left St James’ Park with only one point.
  • That leaves Eddie Howe‘s side in eleventh place in the English top-flight, six points off their top four ambitions but a victory here could also see the Mapies leapfrog Manchester United in seventh spot.
  • For all of Newcastle’s success at home this season, it’s a completely different story on the road, they’ve won just one of their eight Premier League road trips so far, whilst they’ve won just one of their last ten PL trips to Old Trafford, albeit a 2-0 victory here last December.

Prediction: Draw, Manchester United 2-2 Newcastle United.
