Bukayo Saka – 3/1
Bukayo Saka contributed ten assists in the Premier League for Arsenal last year, an impressive stat bearing in mind his season was largely derailed by injury, and is the joint 3/1 favourite to be the league’s top assist provider this season.
The England winger has a major boost coming into the new season with the acquisition of Swedish striker Vicktor Gyokeres, as a more clinical striker could allow a higher percentage of the chances Saka creates to be converted.
Arsenal are a major threat at set-pieces so if Saka can remain fit throughout the season and continue to fire in accurate crosses from corners and free-kicks, he could be great selection in the Playmaker award market.
Mohamed Salah – 3/1
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah might be remembered for winning the Golden Boot last season, but he also picked up the Playmaker award for the second time in his career after notching 18 assists in 2024/25.
The Egyptian King is 3/1 joint favourite to secure the Playmaker award in 2025/26, which would make him level with Kevin De Bruyne who has won the award three times and is the most successful recipient of the trophy.
Salah has proven his longevity in the Premier League, taking home the Golden Boot a record four times (joint with Thierry Henry), and providing the most assists in two seasons. He’ll be sure to have a big impact on Liverpool’s season yet again.
Salah is also priced at 11/2 in the top goalscorer market, you can read more in our blog here.
Florian Wirtz – 9/2
The arrival of Florian Wirtz at Liverpool has sent ripples throughout the Premier League. The 22-year-old was the central creative force in Bayer Leverkusen’s historic title-winning 2023/24 season. During his four-year stint in the Bundesliga, Wirtz created an impressive 253 chances from open play, a stat only bettered by Thomas Muller in that timeframe.
The German arrives on Merseyside bringing his versatility, being able to play all across the midfield, as a 10, or even a false 9, meaning he can be deployed in multiple roles to maximise his creative effect.
Cole Palmer – 11/2
Cole Palmer’s rise to prominence has been explosive. The Young Englishman’s goal-scoring prowess often grabs the headlines, but his creative contributions are equally impressive. Palmer has delivered 29 assists in 98 appearances since joining Chelsea.
Similar to the situation with Bukayo Saka, Palmer’s creative numbers have been achieved in the absence of a clinical striker leading the attack. However, the summer signing of Joao Pedro could provide Palmer with the clinical finishing partner he needs.
Bruno Fernandes – 9/1
Bruno Fernandes’ creative consistency at Manchester United has been remarkable. He has been the creative powerhouse in United’s midfield since he joined the club in 2019 and has mingled with the top creators in the league each season.
Last year, the Portuguese midfielder provided 11 assists in a team with a largely misfiring attack, which is an impressive stat when you consider Manchester United’s 15th-place finish.
With a new improved front-line bringing in the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes’ assist numbers could rise significantly with the addition of a more clinical forward line.
The rest
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard is a highly capable producer of chances, but while Saka often takes the role of primary creator, the Norwegian is at longer odds for the Playmaker award at 18/1.
A pivotal player in an impressive Nottingham Forest side last season was Morgan Gibbs-White and the club have managed to keep their key player at the City Ground. Notching 10 assists in the league last season, he’s worth considering as a 28/1 outsider.
Manchester City have added two new prolific creators to their midfield and attacking ranks in the form of Tijjani Reijnders and Ryan Cherki, who are priced at 22/1 and 25/1 respectively. Any player joining City’s dynamic side has a high ceiling for creative output, and with Erling Haaland up top, these two could step up and replicate the numbers of the legendary Kevin De Bruyne for the Sky Blues.
