@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the Premier League..

After a weekend of FA Cup fourth round action, the Premier League returns this weekend with some mouth-watering encounters.

We kick Saturday’s Premier League action off at 12.30pm with Leicester City taking on Arsenal at the King Power Stadium.

Elsewhere at 3pm, Aston Villa welcome struggling Ipswich Town to Villa Park and Fulham play hosts to high-flying Nottingham Forest. With only goals scored separating the two side, Newcastle travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City, whilst two sides from the South Coast battle it out for three points as Bournemouth travel to Southampton. We conclude the afternoons action with an all-London affair, it’s West Ham against Brentford at the London Stadium.

The evening game on Saturday takes us to Selhurst Park, where Crystal Palace and Everton come head-to-head at 5.30pm.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:

Leicester City v Arsenal – Saturday, 12.30pm

  • Leicester City will feel hard done by following their controversial FA Cup exit against Manchester United.
  • The Foxes have now lost nine of their last eleven games across all competitions and sit inside the relegation zone by two points.
  • Leicester City have lost their last six games against Arsenal, including a 4-2 defeat in the reverse fixture.
    ——————————–
  • Arsenal have spent the last week in Dubai following their early exit from the FA Cup and automatic qualification into the UEFA Champions League last sixteen.
  • Following their emphatic 5-1 victory against Man City in their last league outing, a 2-0 defeat in the EFL Cup semi-final at Newcastle will frustrate Mikel Arteta.
  • Arsenal have won the last four games at the King Power, two of which ended in a 2-0 scoreline.

Prediction: Arsenal to win & Under 3.5 goals, Leicester City 0-2 Arsenal.

Aston Villa v Ipswich Town – Saturday, 3pm

  • Aston Villa come into this fixture off the back of a 2-1 victory in the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
  • The Villans will be looking for an improvement in performances during their Premier League fixtures though, having not won in their last three league outings.
  • Unai Emery’s side are currently on an unbeaten run of eleven games across all competitions on home soil.
    ——————————–
  • Ipswich were left frustrated in their last Premier League outing having suffered a 2-1 defeat on home soil to bottom side Southampton, much to the annoyance of the home faithful.
  • Just three wins in twenty four Premier League games now for Kieran McKenna’s side, they remain three points from safety ahead of their trip to Villa.
  • Aston Villa have seen both teams score in 75% of their league home games, whilst Ipswich have seen the same in 73% of their away games.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Ipswich Town, Both Teams To Score & Aston Villa To Win.

Fulham v Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 3pm

  • Fulham bounced back from that poor display against Manchester United with an impressive victory away at Newcastle before confirming their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Wigan’s expense.
  • The Cottagers are now ninth in the Premier League and just five points off the top six and a precious European spot.
  • No side in the Premier League has a higher percentage of both teams scoring at home than Fulham’s 83%.
    ——————————–
  • Questions were starting to be asked over Nottingham Forest after their 5-0 defeat to Bournemouth, they were soon answered when the Tricky Trees put seven past Brighton without reply in their last PL outing.
  • Nuno Espirito Santo’s side remain third with just fourteen games left to play, their European dreams could soon become a real reality.
  • These two sides have met five times since Nottingham Forest’s return to the English top-flight, Fulham have won four and Forest have won one.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Fulham 1-1 Nottingham Forest.

Manchester City v Newcastle United – Saturday, 3pm

  • Following their 5-1 hammering away to Arsenal, Manchester City followed it up by scraping past League One side Leyton Orient in the FA Cup before facing Real Madrid.
  • Pep’s side found themselves 2-1 up with just five minutes left to play on Tuesday night before his side threw away another important win, losing 3-2 on the night.
  • It’s becoming a theme for Manchester City but they should edge this one given their record against the Magpies.
    ——————————–
  • It’s been a good week for Newcastle United, they confirmed their place in both the EFL Cup final and the fifth round of the FA Cup.
  • The Magpies have won all of their last six away games across all competitions, including games against Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal.
  • Newcastle haven’t beaten Manchester City away from home in the league since September 2000, they’ve lost the last ten games here, scoring in just three of those.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-1 Newcastle United, Manchester City to win.

Southampton v Bournemouth – Saturday, 3pm

  • Southampton picked up just their second win in the Premier League against Ipswich Town in their last league outing.
  • The Saints couldn’t build on that in the FA Cup following a 1-0 defeat here to Championship side Burnley, their main priority right now though is Premier League safety.
  • Ivan Jurić’s side are now ten points from safety, they need to put a run of form together if they have any hope of Premier League survival.
    ——————————–
  • Bournemouth’s twelve game unbeaten run across all competitions came to an end against Liverpool in their last PL game, although the Cherries bounced back with a 2-0 victory in the FA Cup at Everton.
  • Andoni Iraola has proved a lot of doubters wrong this season, his side are now just three points off the top four, with the Spaniard also in the running for manager of the season.
  • Bournemouth have won their last two league games here, whilst also winning the reverse fixture 3-1 back in September.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Bournemouth to win, Southampton 1-3 Bournemouth.

West Ham v Brentford – Saturday, 3pm

  • Both sides haven’t played a competitive game since the start of February due to early FA Cup exits in the third round.
  • West Ham still have just one victory under Graham Potter so far, they’ve not won any of their last three outings.
  • We should see an improved West Ham performance here given Potter has had two weeks without any interruptions with his new squad.
    ——————————–
  • Brentford will feel frustrated following their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in their last outing, the Bees created more chances than their opponents but weren’t clinical enough in front of goal.
  • Thomas Frank’s side have now won just one of their last five games and although they won’t be in trouble in terms of relegation, their season is slowly petering out.
  • The last three meetings between these two sides have seen both teams find the back of the net, whilst both sides have seen their league games produce at least three goals more often than not.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 goals, Both Teams To Score & No Draw.

Crystal Palace v Everton – Saturday, 5.30pm

  • Crystal Palace have really turned a corner under Oliver Glasner, the Eagles have lost just one of their last nine games across all competitions.
  • It’s a run of form which has seen Palace move well away from the relegation zone as they now look to finish in the top half.
  • Despite recent form, this could be a tough test for Palace as they haven’t beat Everton in their last eight attempts.
    ——————————–
  • Three wins from his first four Premier League games in charge of Everton was exactly the start that David Moyes was looking for.
  • The Toffees have given themselves a real cushion to the bottom three now, with a ten point gap to Leicester City in eighteenth.
  • The Blues head to South London on a real high after their 98th minute equaliser against Liverpool in a real throwback of a football game.

Prediction: Draw, Crystal Palace 0-0 Everton.
