The Premier League returns this weekend, as we enter matchday 26 and head towards the business end of the season.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the Premier League..

We kick Saturday’s Premier League action off at 12.30pm with Everton welcoming Manchester United to Goodison Park for the final time.

Elsewhere at 3pm, Arsenal will look to keep their title challenge alive when they face West Ham at the Emirates Stadium, whilst Wolves make the trip to Bournemouth in need of three points. There’s an all-London affair as Crystal Palace travel to Fulham, Ipswich Town will be hoping to complete the double over Tottenham Hotspur, whilst two sides from the South Coast will battle it out for all three points as Southampton go head-to-head with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The evening game on Saturday takes us to Villa Park, where Aston Villa take on Chelsea in an intriguing battle at 5.30pm.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:

Everton v Manchester United – Saturday, 12.30pm

  • Everton’s survival hopes had been touch and go before David Moyes took over but after picking up thirteen points from a possible eighteen, the Toffees are now thirteen points above the drop.
  • The Blues are the most inform team in the Premier League right now, a victory in this one would see them go four points above Manchester United.
  • Everton’s record against Man United hasn’t been great of late, they’ve lost four of their last six at Goodison Park against United, winning just once in that period.
    ——————————–
  • This is a really dark time for Manchester United, they followed their FA victory up with another league defeat, this time away at Tottenham Hotspur.
  • Their brightest spark this season has been Amad but with the Ivorian out for the rest of the season, some of these senior players need to step up for the Red Devils.
  • Manchester United have won just three of their twelve league games on the road this season, they’ll take positive’s from their recent trips to Goodison but that may not be enough.

Prediction: Draw, Everton 1-1 Manchester United.

Arsenal v West Ham – Saturday, 3pm

  • Arsenal had to turn to Mikel Merino in their last outing at Leicester, a lack of attacking options meant Merino had to play as an emergency striker, he was on the pitch for around 20 minutes and scored twice.
  • The Gunners will be boosted with the news that Liverpool dropped two points at Villa Park on Wednesday evening, a win here would see them move to within five points of the league leaders.
  • Arsenal remain the only side yet to lose a Premier League game at home this season, with a record of eight victories and four draws in their twelve outings so far.
    ——————————–
  • After picking up all three points in Graham Potter’s first league game in charge of the Hammers, West Ham haven’t been able to build on that and are now winless in their last four.
  • There’s a ten point gap between West Ham and the relegation zone which should be enough, although they could be looking over their shoulders if this run of form continues.
  • With just one win (Southampton) in their last seven away games, a trip to the Emirates isn’t ideal. The Hammers have scored in all but one of their Premier League away games this season.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-1 West Ham, Both Teams To Score & Arsenal To Win.

Bournemouth v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Saturday, 3pm

  • After a 3-1 victory away to Southampton, Bournemouth climbed into the top five on goal difference, as the Cherries continue to dream about European football next season.
  • It’s remarkable that Bournemouth were close to sacking Andoni Iraola after a slow start if the rumours are to be believed, he’s now up for the manager of the year award.
  • Bournemouth have lost just one of their last fifteen games across all competitions, a win here would see them move up to fourth for a few hours at least.
    ——————————–
  • After an unbeaten run of three games when Vítor Pereira took over, it’s not been great since for Wolves, just one win in their last seven Premier League games has Wolves right in a relegation scrap.
  • The Old Gold were unlucky not to take anything from Liverpool on Sunday but they have a good record away at Bournemouth, having lost just one of their last seven visits.
  • When these two sides meet, it doesn’t tend to favour the home side, with only one win in their last eight meetings belonging to the home team on the day.

Prediction: Wolves or Draw, Both Teams To Score & Draw.

Fulham v Crystal Palace – Saturday, 3pm

  • Fulham find themselves just four points off the top six after back-to-back victories in the Premier League.
  • Marco Silva’s side have lost twice in their last fifteen games across all competitions, recent victories against Newcastle and Nottingham Forest will put the belief into the Cottagers as they look for a European place.
  • Fulham have seen both teams score in 76% of their league games so far (a league high), whilst the same has occurred in all but two of their PL games at Craven Cottage (85%).
    ——————————–
  • Having lost just one of their previous nine games across all competitions, a defeat on home soil against Everton would have really disappointed Oliver Glasner.
  • The Eagles have been climbing up the table since their slow start to the campaign, they sit thirteenth and thirteen points above the drop.
  • Palace will welcome another road trip, they’ve lost just one of their last eleven away games across all competitions, whilst they haven’t lost at Craven Cottage since 2005.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Fulham 2-2 Crystal Palace.

Ipswich Town v Tottenham Hotspur – Saturday, 3pm

  • Ipswich Town gave themselves a glimmer of hope on Saturday with a 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa despite playing the majority of the game with ten men.
  • The Tractor Boys are now just two points from safety and a win here could see them move out of the bottom three for the first time since November.
  • Ipswich defied the odds in the reverse fixture, they’ll be hoping to complete the double over Spurs.
    ——————————–
  • Following two cup exits, Tottenham Hotspur bounced back with a 1-0 victory against Manchester United in a pretty dull-affair in all honesty, with both sides lacking confidence.
  • Ange Postecoglou will be relieved that he’s starting to see quite a few of his players return from injury just in time for the business end of the campaign.
  • If Spurs can keep a clean sheet on Saturday, it’ll be the first time they’ve managed to do so in three consecutive Premier League games since May 2022.

Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur, HT Draw/FT Spurs.

Southampton v Brighton & Hove Albion – Saturday, 3pm

  • A twentieth league defeat of the season on Saturday meant Southampton are now ten points from safety, having won just two league games so far, it looks like the writing is on the wall.
  • The Saints have won just one of their last ten games in all competitions at St Mary’s, whilst they’ve lost each of their last seven league games here.
  • Southampton have to be careful, they would become one of the worst sides in Premier League history if they don’t start picking up points.
    ——————————–
  • After that massive 7-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, Brighton have made amends with back-to-back victories against Chelsea in the FA Cup and the Premier League.
  • The Seagulls aren’t giving up on finishing in one of those European places, they remain just six points behind Bournemouth in fifth.
  • Brighton are unbeaten in their last six games against the Saints, whilst both teams have scored in each of their last seven meetings.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Brighton to win, Southampton 1-3 Brighton.

Aston Villa v Chelsea – Saturday, 5.30pm

  • Aston Villa claimed a point off Liverpool on Wednesday evening with a 2-2 draw, that’s now four draws in their last five Premier League outings.
  • Despite being in the last sixteen of the UEFA Champions League, Villa need to improve in the league if they want to be in Europe next season, defeat here would see them fall seven points behind Chelsea in sixth.
  • Aston Villa have won just one of their last eight games at Villa Park against Chelsea.
    ——————————–
  • Having been potential title contenders earlier in the season, Chelsea have dropped off now and head to the Midlands occupying fifth place but only four points off Nottingham Forest in third.
  • Chelsea were dreadful in their last outing on the South Coast against Brighton, failing to produce a shot on target in the whole game.
  • The Blues are currently on a winless run of six games away from home, they’ll take some confidence from the fact they’ve scored at least two goals in nine of their last eleven meetings at Villa Park.

Prediction: Chelsea to score 2+, Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea.
