Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Saturday’s Premier League fixtures:
Everton v Arsenal – Saturday, 12.30pm
- Everton suffered just their second Premier League defeat since David Moyes took charge after their narrow 1-0 loss to rivals Liverpool on Wednesday evening.
- Despite that loss, the Toffees won’t be too worried given their fourteen point gap to the bottom three, with Premier League safety all but secure, they’ll start to plan for their new life at Bramley-Moore Dock.
- The Blues have a good record on home soil against Arsenal, having won three of their last four meetings here with the Gunners, whilst they played out a goalless draw in the reverse fixture back in December.
——————————– - Arsenal head to Merseyside off the back of a 2-1 victory on Tuesday evening against Fulham, with Mikel Arteta’s side still twelve points off the top with twenty-four points left to play for.
- Tuesday’s victory wasn’t the only good news for the Arsenal faithful, it took Bukayo Saka just seven minutes on his return to get himself on the scoresheet, a much needed boost following his three month absence.
- Arsenal have lost just twice on the road in the Premier League, only league leaders Liverpool have a better away record than the Gunners this season.
Prediction: Arsenal To Win To Nil, Everton 0-1 Arsenal.
Crystal Palace v Brighton & Hove Albion – Saturday, 3pm
- Crystal Palace left Southampton on Wednesday night feeling frustrated despite scoring in the 92nd minute, with the Eagles taking just a point from the bottom side.
- Despite Wednesday’s result, Palace extended their unbeaten run to six competitive games and a victory here wouldn’t just give them the bragging rights, they’d also move to just one point from tenth place, something that seemed unfathomable given how they started their campaign.
- Oliver Glasner’s side picked up all three points in the reverse fixture with a 3-1 win back in December, but they haven’t beaten Brighton on home soil since 2018, with the last five meetings here producing a 1-1 scoreline.
——————————– - It’s been a poor few days for Brighton & Hove Albion, exiting the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage last weekend before suffering a 3-0 defeat at home to Villa on Wednesday evening.
- Fabian Hurzeler’s side remain in the hunt for a European spot given they sit just three points off the top five but may look back on Wednesday’s result with more disappointment come the end of the season.
- We should be in for goals here in history is anything to go by, with both teams finding the back of the net in eight of their last nine meetings.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Crystal Palace 1-1 Brighton.
Ipswich Town v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Saturday, 3pm
- Ipswich Town defied the odds on Wednesday night when they picked up just their fourth Premier League win in this campaign with a 2-1 win away at Bournemouth.
- The frustration for Kieran McKenna and co is the fact they still remain nine points from safety with Wolves also winning on Tuesday evening, defeat in this one could all but confirm their fate as a twelve point gap with just twenty-one points left to play for is a huge ask.
- However, the Tractor Boys have already taken three points off Wolves in the reverse fixture with a 94th minute winner, a game which made all the headlines for the wrong reasons following a brawl on the pitch at full-time.
——————————– - Wolves made it back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since December with wins against both Southampton and most recently, West Ham.
- Vítor Pereira has worked wonders with this Wolves side, nine points clear of the drop with games against both Ipswich and Leicester to come, their destiny is now in their own hands.
- The Old Gold have the chance here to win three games away from home in the Premier League for the first time since 2022. I’m expecting a tense affair in this one, with Wolves coming out the happier of the two sides.
Prediction: Draw, Ipswich Town 1-1 Wolves.
West Ham United v Bournemouth – Saturday, 3pm
- West Ham turned to Graham Potter to steady the ship following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui but it’s been far from magical so far, with the Hammers sat in sixteenth.
- A 1-0 defeat to Wolves on Tuesday evening extended their winless run to three games with very uninspiring performances, it’s almost like the Irons are just waiting for the conclusion of this campaign and start from fresh next season.
- The good news for West Ham is they welcome another side in poor form, a side they haven’t lost to in their last eight competitive games, with wins coming in four of those.
——————————– - Andoni Iraola will be hoping the wheels haven’t started to fall off, with the Cherries now winless in their last five Premier League games, seeing them drop down to tenth ahead of this trip to East London.
- The Bournemouth fans might welcome an away fixture to get their season back on track, the Cherries have lost just one of their last ten away games across all competitions.
- Bournemouth have seen twelve of their fifteen games away from home produce at least three goals in the Premier League, averaging 3.6 goals per game.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & No Draw, Over 2 Goals, Over 3 Cards, Over 10 Corners (YourOdds)
Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 5.30pm
- Aston Villa have put together six wins in a row which has seen them secure a UEFA Champions League QF spot, an FA Cup semi-final spot and now a real chance of securing a top four place in the Premier League.
- Their impressive 3-0 victory away to Brighton on Wednesday night has move Unai Emery’s side up to seventh in the league, with just three points separating them from Manchester City in fourth (At the time of writing).
- Villa’s home form have been remarkable, they’ve lost just twice here all season (v Arsenal and Crystal Palace), whilst they are currently on a sixteen game unbeaten run at Villa Park in all competitions.
——————————– - As for Nottingham Forest, they’ve also been remarkable this season with the Tricky Trees well on course of securing UEFA Champions League football for next season, astonishing given they finished just one place above the drop zone last season.
- Nuno Espirito Santo’s side head to Villa off the back of a 1-0 victory against Manchester United, leaving them in third place and just four points behind Arsenal in second.
- This could be a tough test for Forest though, they’ve not won here at Villa Park since 1994, failing to win any of the eight attempts since.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Aston Villa To Win, Aston Villa 2-1 Nottingham Forest.
