We’ve got a busy day of Premier League football on Saturday with seven games taking place up and down the country.
First up we head to Old Trafford, where Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur at 12.30pm.
We then have five games all taking place at the traditional time of 3pm.
The league leaders will welcome Sunderland to the Emirates Stadium, Aston Villa travel to the south coast to take on Bournemouth, West Ham will make the trip north to Lancashire where they’ll go head-to-head with Burnley in a huge game at the bottom, Fulham take on Everton in the capital, whilst Wolves return to Molineux to battle it out for a much-needed three points against Chelsea.
The evening kick off in the top-flight comes from St James’ Park, with Newcastle looking to bounce back from their midweek cup exit, they take on Brentford at 5.30pm.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Arsenal v Sunderland – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Arsenal v Sunderland with William Hill
- Last weekend was definitely Arsenal’s, an emphatic 4-0 victory away at Leeds United whilst their fellow title contenders Manchester City & Aston Villa both dropped points meant Mikel Arteta’s side extended their lead at the top to six points.
- The Gunners return to the Emirates stadium looking to bounce back though having suffered their first league defeat of the season here against Manchester United, history suggests they should get a win here though as Arsenal are unbeaten in their last eighteen home league games against Sunderland (W13 D5).
- Arsenal are also unbeaten in their last forty-three home league fixtures against promoted sides, whilst they’ve not lost consecutive home league games since April 2022, they should take all three points in this one.
——————————–———————— - Following Arsenal’s recent home defeat, quite remarkably Sunderland remain the only side in the Premier League yet to taste defeat on home soil but away from home hasn’t been great for the Black Cats.
- Regis Le Bris’ side have won just two of their twelve away games in the league this season, whilst they’ve won none of their last seven away league games, with their last three all having been played in London.
- Sunderland have won just one of their last twenty-eight Premier League games against Arsenal (D10 L17), whilst they’ve never won in sixteen league visits to Arsenal, they did surprise Chelsea earlier in this season but this one is a huge ask.
Prediction: Arsenal -1 Handicap, Arsenal 3-0 Sunderland.
Bournemouth v Aston Villa – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Aston Villa with William Hill
- A 2-0 win away to Wolves last weekend meant the Bournemouth extended their unbeaten run to four games in the Premier League (W3, D1), the Cherries now find themselves just six points off the top six which is remarkable given they failed to win any of their eleven games prior to their mini-run of form.
- Bournemouth fans have been treated to goals in recent weeks at home, each of their last three home games have ended in a 3-2 scoreline (W2, L1), whilst Adoni Iraola’s side have now scored two or more goals in six of their last seven games.
- Since participating in the Premier League, Bournemouth won four of their first five meetings against Aston Villa but remain winless since then, having suffered defeat in four of their last six league games against the Villans (D2).
——————————–———————— - Two defeats in their last three Premier League games have seen Aston Villa drop off their title charge, a 1-0 defeat on home soil last weekend against a Brentford side that played the second half with ten men means the Villans head to the south coast seven points behind Arsenal.
- The Villans must be careful they don’t get themselves dragged into a top four battle though, they remain just five points above Manchester United following their recent change of form but having the second best away form in the league will fill Villa with confidence ahead of this one.
- Following their 4-0 win at Villa Park in November, Aston Villa are looking to complete the league double over Bournemouth for the first time, i’m going to back goals in this one but nothing to separate the two sides.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score Over 1.5 Goals, Bournemouth 2-2 Aston Villa.
Burnley v West Ham – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Burnley v West Ham with William Hill
- Burnley’s dismal display away to Sunderland on Monday night has done them no favours in terms of Premier League survival, the 3-0 defeat has left the Clarets eleven points from safety and defeat here could all but confirm their place in the EFL Championship.
- Scott Parker’s side haven’t picked up three points since winning at Wolves back in October, they lost the reverse fixture with West Ham 3-2 back in November and with Burnley five points adrift of the Hammers, this one is a must win.
- Burnley are winless in their last 15 Premier League games (D5 L10). Only once have they ever had a longer run within the same top-flight campaign, going 17 without a win at the start of 1889-90.
——————————–———————— - Almost out of nowhere, West Ham have found a bit of belief and a bit of form having secured consecutive wins in the Premier League for just the second time this season but they’ll be disappointed having lost their last outing away at Chelsea, despite going into the break with a 2-0 lead.
- The Hammers have already lost away to both Sunderland and Leeds this season, not since the 2009-2010 campaign have they lost all three of their away games against the newly promoted sides.
- West Ham have seen seventeen of their twenty-four Premier League games produce at least three goals, the most in the top-flight but with just two wins in their twelve away trips so far, this one is tough to call. I’m going to back both teams to find a goal but the Hammers to hit Burnley where it hurts.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & West Ham To Win, Burnley 1-2 West Ham.
Fulham v Everton – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Fulham v Everton with William Hill
- Fulham thought they had grabbed themselves a point last weekend at Old Trafford, they came from two goals behind and were just moments away from taking a point until conceding a 94th minute goal from Benjamin Sesko ensured their poor run at OT continued.
- However, despite that disappointment the Cottagers remain in the hunt for a European spot as they remain just two points behind Brentford in seventh, this one feels huge given both sides are on thirty-four points, only goals scored separate the sides.
- Marco Silva’s side will be delighted to return to Craven Cottage where they’ve not lost any of their last five games in all competitions (W4, D1), although they’ve won none of their last four meetings here against Everton.
——————————–———————— - Everton left Brighton on Saturday with a point after a 97th minute equaliser from Beto, a goal which resulted in David Moyes getting himself a booking having entered the pitch to celebrate, the Glaswegian would do it all again as his side are also just two points off the top seven.
- The Toffees travel to West London on a run of four games unbeaten on their travels, whilst their road trips don’t tend to produce too many goals with just two of their twelve away games in the league this season producing three or more goals.
- The home side has won just one of the last nine meetings between the sides, with Everton winning 2-0 in the reverse fixture this season, i’m going to back a stalemate in this one with Everton making it three draws in a row for the first time since February/March 2025.
Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals, Fulham 1-1 Everton.
Wolves v Chelsea – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Wolves v Chelsea with William Hill
- Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League and having taken just eight points from their first twenty-four games in this campaign, the EFL Championship is calling and it’s no surprise having won just one league game.
- Rob Edwards’ side picking up just eight points so far means they are still on course of becoming the worst team in Premier League history, they need three more points to match Derby County’s eleven.
- With top-goalscorer Jorgen Strand Larsen sold to Crystal Palace on deadline day, Wolves’ struggles in front of goal could continue on Saturday with the Old Gold scoring just four goals across their last seven games at Molineux.
——————————–———————— - Chelsea are looking to bounce back having been dumped out of the EFL Cup away to Arsenal on Tuesday night, Liam Rosenior’s focus will now be back on the Premier League as he looks to become the first English manager to win his first four games in the competition.
- The Blues will be looking to keep another clean sheet here on Saturday, only two sides have kept more clean sheets than Chelsea’s nine this season, whilst they’ve won the last four meetings against the Old Gold in all competitions.
- I’m going to back Chelsea to win this one without conceding, a victory here for the Blues would mark their longest winning run in the league since December 2024, not bad from Liam Rosenior given the amount of criticism he’s already endured.
Prediction: Chelsea To Win To Nil, Wolves 0-2 Chelsea.
Newcastle v Brentford – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on Newcastle v Brentford with William Hill
- Newcastle United were disappointing in their EFL Cup semi-final away at Manchester City on Wednesday night, a 3-1 loss extended the Magpies’ winless run to four games across all competitions, something that needs to change drastically if they want a top five finish.
- The Magpies return to St James’ Park where they’ve won seven of their twelve games in the league this season (D2, L3), despite a defeat here in their last league outing v Aston Villa, Eddie Howe’s side should return to winning ways having won nine of their last ten home games against Brentford (D1).
- There have been an average of 4.1 goals per game in Premier League meetings between Brentford and Newcastle, eight of the last ten meetings have all seen both teams on the scoresheet and have produced at least three or more goals.
——————————–———————— - Brentford can be proud of their visit to Villa Park last weekend, they played the second half with just ten men yet left the Midlands with all three points, picking up just their fourth away win in the Premier League this season.
- The Bees have the chance to secure the double over Newcastle for the first time since the 1934-1935 campaign having won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in November although they’ve lost each of their last four visits to St James’ Park.
- Eddie Howe said the way his side are conceding goals is worrying and given the record between these two sides it would be difficult to go against goals in this one, but i’m backing Newcastle to get themselves back to winning ways.
Prediction: Newcastle United To Win & Over 2.5 Goals, Newcastle Untied 3-1 Brentford.
