Premier League Betting Tips for Sunday 1st February

Premier League Puma Ball 2025-26

This weekend will see the Premier League get underway for Gameweek twenty-four of this campaign, with the table starting to take shape we’re all set for another round of pure PL drama.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..

Sunday will see four games taking place in the Premier League, with three games getting underway at 2pm.

Aston Villa look to keep up their title hopes when they welcome Brentford to Villa Park, Manchester United will be looking to continue their strong start under Michael Carrick when they face Fulham at Old Trafford, whilst Crystal Palace head to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.

The later game on Sunday is a really intriguing one, as Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:

Aston Villa v Brentford – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Brentford with William Hill

  • With Aston Villa’s title chances seemingly disappearing ever so slightly over the last couple of weeks, an important 2-0 victory against Newcastle on Sunday has put Unai Emery’s side right back in it and remain just four points from the summit.
  • The Villans return to Villa Park after coming from 2-0 down against RB Salzburg on Thursday night in the Europa League to win 3-2 and secure second place in the league phase, although Ollie Watkins limping off isn’t ideal.
  • Aston Villa have won twelve of their last thirteen games on home soil in all competitions (L1), whilst they have never lost in ten previous home league games against Brentford (W4 D6), the most they’ve ever faced a side without defeat.
    ——————————–————————
  • Brentford had gone six games unbeaten in all competitions but have since lost consecutive Premier League games for the second time this season but Keith Andrew’s side remain just four points off the top five.
  • The Bees have struggled on the road though in the top-flight, despite two wins in their last three away trips, they’ve still managed just three wins from their eleven away games in the league, whilst they’ve never won at Villa Park.
  • Brentford have lost their last two Premier League games, they last lost three consecutive league games without scoring in March 2012 in League One, i’m going to back Villa to continue their impressive home form but both teams to score.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Aston Villa To Win, Aston Villa 2-1 Brentford.

Manchester United v Fulham – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Manchester United v Fulham with William Hill

  • Life for Michael Carrick in charge of Manchester United couldn’t have got off to a better start, beating title contenders Manchester City 2-0 before following it up with an incredible 3-2 victory away at Arsenal.
  • You do feel like this is the real test though for United as these are the kind of games where they tend to drop points but history is on the Red Devils’ side as they’ve lost just one of their last twenty Premier League games against Fulham (W15, D4).
  • Manchester United are unbeaten in six Premier League games (W3 D3) and haven’t had a longer unbeaten streak since a run of eight in January and February 2022 under Ralf Rangnick. It is the longest current ongoing unbeaten run of any side.
    ——————————–————————
  • Despite a poor record against Manchester United, Fulham will travel to Old Trafford full of confidence having lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions, victory here would move them to within just one point of United.
  • These two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in August, avoiding defeat in this one would be the first time they’ve done that in both league meetings for the first time since 2003/2004.
  • We should see goals on Sunday, nine of the last ten meetings between these two sides at Old Trafford have seen both teams on the scoresheet, i’m backing more of the same but expect Man United to continue their run of form under Carrick.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Tottenham To Win, Burnley 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur.

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace – Sunday, 2pm

Punters can bet on Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace with William Hill

  • Nottingham Forest picked up a vital three points against Brentford on Sunday and then followed that up with a 4-0 win in the UEFA Europa League against Ferencvaros although it wasn’t enough to secure an automatic qualification spot.
  • The Tricky Trees will shift their focus back to the top-flight as they continue to look over their shoulder, with West Ham picking up consecutive victories, Sean Dyche’s side are just five points from the relegation zone.
  • The Reds can pull Crystal Palace in to a relegation fight with a win here as only three points separate the two sides, whilst Forest are unbeaten in their last six top-flight home games against Crystal Palace, since a 1-0 loss in February 1991.
    ——————————–————————
  • Crystal Palace find themselves in a real mess on and off the pitch, the Eagles lost 3-1 against Chelsea last weekend which extended their winless run to eleven games now in all competitions, defeat here and Palace will be a very worried side.
  • The Eagles travel to the City Ground having lost each of their last five away games and since matchday 16, they’ve won the fewest points (2), scored the fewest goals (4), lost the most games (6) and have the worst goal difference (-12) in the Premier League.
  • Putting an end to their awful recent record doesn’t look like it will occur on Sunday, Palace haven’t won any of their previous ten meetings against Nottingham Forest in all competitions and it’s a fixture that tends to end in a draw, with seven of the last nine meetings ending in a stalemate.

Prediction: Draw, Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Tottenham v Manchester City – Sunday, 4.30pm

Punters can bet on Tottenham v Manchester City with William Hill

  • There’s huge pressure already on Thomas Frank having won just one of his last eight Premier League games in charge of Spurs, consecutive victories in the UEFA Champions League and securing an automatic qualification spot might have relived a bit of pressure but Spurs need PL victories.
  • Tottenham Hotspur actually won this game back in August (0-2) and things looked rosy for Frank and Co, whilst they have completed the Premier League double over Manchester City nine times so far, more than they have any other opponent, so there’s hope for a win on Sunday.
  • Spurs have seen nine of their last thirteen Premier League games produce both teams to score, with seven of their eleven PL home games producing the same (64%), although they’ve won just two of their league home games, only Wolves have won fewer on home soil.
    ——————————–————————
  • Manchester City made no mistake again Galatasaray on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League, a 2-0 victory meant Pep Guardiola’s side confirmed their spot in the last sixteen of the UCL automatically.
  • Whilst in the Premier League, the Cityzens won their last outing 2-0 against Wolves, with Arsenal slipping up to Manchester United it now means City are well and truly back in the title race with the gap now at just four points.
  • Spurs are lacking confidence in front of their own fans and it doesn’t seem to take much for the place to get toxic, City will be hoping to use that to their advantage and i’m backing the away side to continue their title charge.

Prediction: Manchester City To Win, Tottenham 0-2 Man City.
