Sunday’s Premier League action will see four games taking place up and down the country, three of which kick off at 2pm.
In London, Brentford will go head-to-head with Nottingham Forest, whilst Crystal Palace face Chelsea in a London derby. Elsewhere at 2pm, Newcastle take on Aston villa in a mouth-watering encounter.
The Sunday evening fixture is a Premier League classic, with Arsenal taking on Man United at the Emirates Stadium.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:
Brentford v Nottingham Forest – Sunday, 2pm
Punters can bet on Brentford v Nottingham Forest with William Hill
- Brentford’s six game unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end last weekend after suffering a 2-0 defeat to rivals Chelsea, despite possibly deserving to take something from that game.
- The Bees will be happy to return back to familiar surroundings having lost just once here in their eleven Premier League games thus far (W7, D3, L1), whilst they enter Sunday’s fixture unbeaten in their last seven home games.
- Brentford lost this exact fixture 2-0 last season but have never lost consecutive home league matches against Nottingham Forest, whilst they’ve scored 3+ goals in five of their last seven home games.
——————————–———————— - Nottingham Forest head to London after a shocking performance in Braga on Thursday night, despite playing away from home you could hear the frustration from the travelling Forest fans after suffering a 1-0 defeat, already seemingly tired of Sean Dyche’s football.
- Thursday night’s defeat comes after a goalless draw against Arsenal last weekend, a valuable point in all honesty as the Tricky Trees really do look like a side heading towards a relegation battle, they enter this gameweek just five points above the drop.
- Nottingham Forest won 2-1 at West Ham in their last Premier League away game against a London side – they’ve not won consecutive top-flight visits to the capital since March 1997 and with just one win in their last five away games in all competitions, this is a tough ask.
Prediction: Brentford To Win, Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest.
Crystal Palace v Chelsea – Sunday, 2pm
Punters can bet on Crystal Palace v Chelsea with William Hill
- Crystal Palace’s 2-1 defeat at Sunderland last weekend just sums up how things are going at the moment, this all after an embarrassing defeat against Macclesfield in the FA Cup, their club captain Marc Guehi leaving and manager Oliver Glasner stating he’ll be leaving himself in the summer.
- It’s now no wins in their last ten games for the Eagles, you have to go back to the 11th December for the last victory which came against Shelbourne in the UEFA Europa Conference League, simply not good enough.
- The poor run of form doesn’t sound like it will end anytime soon either, as Crystal Palace are winless in their last sixteen Premier League games against Chelsea, drawing the last three after losing thirteen in a row.
——————————–———————— - Chelsea made hard work of dispatching Cypriot side Pafos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night but a 1-0 victory for Liam Rosenior’s side has them occupying the final automatic qualification spot with just one game to go.
- It’s been a positive start for the new Chelsea boss, with three wins from his first four games in charge including their 2-0 victory against Brentford last weekend, but improvement on the road is needed having not won any of their last five PL away games.
- The good news for the Blues is they tend to enjoy their short trip from west London to south London, they’ve won six of their last seven Premier League meetings here (D1), five of which seen both teams get on the scoresheet.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Chelsea To Win, Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea.
Newcastle v Aston Villa – Sunday, 2pm
Punters can bet on Newcastle v Aston villa with William Hill
- Newcastle United put things right on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League after a disappointing could of fixtures against Manchester City and Wolves, two games in which they failed to score but made no mistake against PSV with a 3-0 victory here at St James’ Park.
- Returning to home soil will be a huge advantage for the Magpies, they’ve lost just one of their last fifteen games played here in all competitions (W12, D2), whilst they’ve scored at least two goals in each of their last eight league games here in the north east.
- Depending on results elsewhere this weekend, Newcastle could find themselves in the top four with a win on Sunday afternoon and they should be confident of picking up all three points, as they remain unbeaten in their last seventeen home league games against Aston Villa (W11, D6).
——————————–———————— - Aston Villa’s title chances seem to be slipping away ever so slightly and a goalless draw against Crystal Palace followed by a 1-0 defeat against Everton last weekend now means Unai Emery’s side remain third and seven points behind the league leaders Arsenal.
- The Villans travel to Newcastle fresh from their midweek trip to Turkey where they beat Fenerbache 1-0 to secure their spot in the last sixteen of the UEFA Europa League, that’s now just one defeat in their last nine away games in all competitions.
- However, this trip to St James’ Park is always a struggle for Villa, you have to go back to 2005 for the last time the Villans won here (0-3), i’m going to back the points to be shared in this one though, a scoredraw.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Newcastle 1-1 Aston Villa.
