Monday night football in the Premier League comes from the Stadium of Light, with two of the promoted sides going head-to-head as Sunderland welcome Burnley.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Monday’s fixture:
Sunderland v Burnley – Monday, 8pm
Punters can bet on Sunderland v Burnley with William Hill
- Having lost 3-1 to West Ham last weekend, Sunderland return to the Stadium of Light on Monday and remarkably now remain the only side in the Premier League yet to taste defeat on home soil following Arsenal’s sole defeat v Man United.
- The Black Cats slipped into the bottom half of the table though given they’ve now won just one of their previous seven games in the top-flight, although they are also just one of four teams that haven’t lost consecutive games all season.
- Sunderland have lost just one of their last 12 home league games against Burnley (W8 D3), going down 4-2 in the Championship in October 2022, whilst only Everton have seen fewer games produce three or more goals than Sunderland’s nine.
——————————–———————— - Burnley are a side that just can’t seem to get three points over the line despite impressive performances, they’ve drawn their last three Premier League games which came against Man United, Liverpool and most recently Tottenham.
- Scott Parker’s side haven’t picked up three points since winning at Wolves back in October but did win the reverse fixture of this 2-0 back in August, the Clarets need to start winning though if they are to keep their Premier League survival hopes alive, they now sit ten points from safety.
- Burnley remain winless in their last 14 Premier League games (D5 L9); in their top-flight history, only from February 1889 to February 1890 have the Clarets ever endured a longer winless streak (19).
Prediction: Draw, Sunderland 1-1 Burnley.
