Liverpool Premier League guide: The latest fixtures, results, team news and Liverpool odds

| BY News Team

Liverpool have bounced back in spectacular style after the defeat at Arsenal, beating Man City in a highly-charged game at Anfield that saw Jurgen Klopp sent to the stands. Mohamed Salah had already missed a one-on-one as the game ebbed and flowed but he made no mistake with his second opportunity, firing past Ederson for what proved to be the winner.

The Reds backed that up by easing to a 1-0 win over West Ham in midweek thanks to Darwin Nunez’s first-half goal. After a slow start to the season, Klopp’s side are now breathing down the necks of the top four in the table.

We’ve taken a look at all you need to know about Liverpool – from their next league game, to the latest football betting odds.

When is the next Liverpool Premier League fixture?

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to Nottingham Forest, kicking off at the City Ground on Saturday lunchtime at 12:30. It’s the first time the Reds have faced Forest in the league since April 1999, although they did meet in last season’s FA Cup quarter-final at this ground. Liverpool were 1-0 victors that day courtesy of a Diogo Jota goal on their way to lifting the trophy.

Liverpool’s last Premier League visit to the City Ground was an entertaining 2-2 draw, with the England pair of Jamie Redknapp and Michael Owen finding the net for the away side. With Forest at the foot of this season’s table, a point is the very least Jurgen Klopp will be looking for this weekend.

What are the odds that Liverpool win their next game?

Liverpool are evens to win at Forest with our Epic Odds, and may be relishing the opportunity to go up against one of the Premier League’s most porous defences: only Leicester have shipped more goals than Forest’s 23 this season. The Reds are 3/4 to score in both halves and 7/5 to win both halves.

Mohamed Salah kept up his fine record of scoring against Man City last week and is likely to threaten Forest’s backline on Saturday. We have 4/1 on Salah, Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino to each have over one shot on target in the game. Salah has been involved in 29 goals in his last 30 Premier League games against promoted sides (18 goals 11 assists).

Of all Premier League players, only City’s Kevin de Bruyne has more assists than Liverpool’s Konstantinos Tsimikas has recorded in all competitions this season. The Greek left-back set up his fifth of the campaign against West Ham with an inch-perfect cross for Nunez. Tsimikas is 9/4 to get another assist against Forest.

What is the latest Liverpool injury and transfer news?

Both Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota have been ruled out until after the World Cup with knee and hamstring injuries respectively, and Joel Matip is a major doubt for Saturday with a calf injury. Naby Keita is still a few weeks away from selection, and Ibrahima Konate is targeting a return to fitness by the end of this month.

Who are Liverpool’s key players?

Liverpool have arguably the strongest attack in the Premier League, with Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz now supplemented by Uruguayan Darwin Nunez. At the back, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk are two of the best in Europe, while Trent Alexander-Arnold offers outstanding vision and passing ability.

As always though, Salah is the main man to watch. The Egyptian king shared the Golden Boot last season with Spurs’ Son Heung-min, and continues to be a major goal threat and creative force.

What are the Liverpool odds to win the Premier League?

Liverpool are 16/1 to win the Premier League this season after pushing Man City close last year. The Reds missed out by just a single point, but look to have strengthened with the likes of Darwin Nunez arriving. However, a slow start to the new season has left them with plenty of work to do to catch up with City and Arsenal at the top of the table.

Who is the manager of Liverpool?

Jurgen Klopp has been the Liverpool manager since 2015 and ushered in a trophy-laden new era for a club with a history steeped in silverware. The charismatic German coach favours high-intensity attacking football and has shown a superb eye for a player with some of the club’s recruitment and development during his tenure.

Where is Liverpool’s Stadium?

One of the most iconic stadiums in Europe, if not the world, there’s few sporting venues that raise the hairs on the neck like Anfield, especially on those dramatic European nights. With the Kop bellowing out the club anthem of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, Liverpool’s home has been a fortress in recent years. The Reds have called Anfield home since 1892 and the ground now has a capacity of 53,394.
