@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..
Saturday’s action in the Premier League will offer up five games throughout the day up and down the country.
At 3pm, Aston Villa welcome Leeds United to Villa Park, Brighton travel to West London to face Brentford, whilst just around the corner Chelsea will welcome struggling Burnley to Stamford Bridge.
At 5.30pm, it’s a huge game for West Ham United and their survival hopes as they take on Bournemouth on home soil, before Manchester City and Newcastle United meet at the Etihad Stadium at 8pm, brining an end to an action-packed Saturday.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:
Aston Villa v Leeds United – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Aston Villa v Leeds United with William Hill
- Aston Villa return to Villa Park after exiting the FA Cup here against Newcastle last weekend, their focus will now shift to the Premier League as they look to continue their ambitions of finishing in the top four, they sit third at the time of writing with a five point gap to Man United in fourth.
- The Villans are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games against Leeds (W4 D2) and are looking to complete the double over them for the second time in the competition after 1999-00, the last two meetings have ended 2-1 to Villa, William Hill have priced this scoreline at 13/2.
- With just two wins in their last five Premier League games, things have just started to begin to stutter for Unai Emery’s side but they are unbeaten in all eighteen of their top-flight games under Emery against promoted sides (W14, D4).
——————————–———————— - Leeds had to play extra-time on Sunday before getting past EFL Championship side Birmingham City via penalties in the FA Cup, they’ll be hoping that hasn’t taken too much out of them as they look to extend their gap to the bottom three.
- They had to come from two goals behind against Chelsea in their last Premier League outing to take a point back to Yorkshire, that’s now just two defeats in their last thirteen league games for Leeds (W4, D6), you can back Leeds to win here at 3/1 with William Hill.
- Leeds have won just one of their last eighteen Premier League away games (D5 L12), beating Wolves 3-1 in September. They’re winless in their last 10 on the road, i’m going to back both teams to find the net but Villa to edge it.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Aston Villa To Win (13/5), Aston Villa 2-1 Leeds United (13/2).
Brentford v Brighton – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Brentford v Brighton with William Hill
- It’s been an incredible season so far for Brentford under Keith Andrews, the Bees sit seventh in the Premier League as their European dreams are well and truly alive having played out a 1-1 draw with Arsenal before their 1-0 win in the FA Cup at Macclesfield.
- Depending on results elsewhere this weekend, Brentford could find themselves just one point behind the top five with a victory in this one, they won this exact fixture 4-2 last season, last winning consecutive home league games against Brighton between 1998 and 2007, they are priced at EVS to win this one with William Hill.
- The Bees have lost just two of their last twelve games in all competitions but they’ve dropped points in both of their last two games here on home soil (L1, D1), whilst they’ve won just two of their last seven meetings here in west London against Brighton.
——————————–———————— - Fabian Hurzeler is a man under huge pressure with many believing that failure to get all three points in this one could see the end of his time in charge of the Seagulls, this comes having seen his side win just one of their last thirteen league games (D6, L6, whilst they travel to Brentford after a 3-0 loss in the FA Cup last weekend against Liverpool.
- Failure to win here would see the Seagulls go seven without a win for the first time since a run of eight between November and January last season, whilst that does seem likely given they’ve not won an away game in the top-flight since November, it’s 12/5 for Brighton to end that run.
- Their have been under 2.5 goals in six of the last seven league games for Brighton, i think we could see both teams on the scoresheet again here but a draw here wouldn’t surprise me with Huzeler’s job on the line.
Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals (EVS), Brentford 1-1 Brighton (11/2).
Chelsea v Burnley – Saturday, 3pm
Punters can bet on Chelsea v Burnley with William Hill
- Despite just two defeats (both v Arsenal), Liam Rosenior was left livid in Chelsea’s last Premier League outing having seen his side throw away a two-goal lead at Stamford Bridge against Leeds United, they return here after a 4-0 victory away at Hull in the FA Cup.
- Chelsea have encountered a poor record against promoted sides this season having lost 2-1 at home to Sunderland and 3-1 away at Leeds, they’ve never lost to all three promoted sides in a single Premier League campaign before, they are 23/20 with William Hill to win this to nil.
- The Blues have dropped more points from winning positions in Premier League home games than any other side this season which will usually be a concern but given the form of Burnley right now, you’d expect a home win here.
——————————–———————— - Burnley’s dismal display in the Premier League actually came to an end away at Crystal Palace despite being 2-0 down after just thirty-three minutes, the Clarets scored three goals in seven first half minutes just before the break and picked up just their second league win away from home.
- You’d think that would be the perfect result to build on for Scott Parker’s side but that definitely wasn’t the case having exited the FA Cup after a 2-1 defeat at home to EFL League One side Mansfield, with many believing time could be up soon for Parker, they are a huge 11/1 to produce another away win.
- Burnley have won just once here in their last nine visits (L4, D4) with their victory coming back in 2017 with a 3-2 win, they’ve conceded least 2 goals in 12 of their last 13 matches against Chelsea in all competitions.
Prediction: Chelsea -2 Handicap (6/4), Chelsea 3-0 Burnley (13/2).
West Ham v Bournemouth – Saturday, 5.30pm
Punters can bet on West Ham v Bournemouth with William Hill
- West Ham are not giving up on the Premier League, they looked down and out a few weeks ago but the Hammers have put together three wins from their last five games (D1, L1) to move them to within just three points of safety.
- Nuno Espirito Santo’s side followed up their 1-1 draw with Manchester United with a goalless draw against Burton in the FA Cup last weekend before progressing after extra-time, whilst they remain unbeaten unbeaten in their last nine Premier League meetings against Bournemouth (W3 D6), the Hammers can be backed at 5/4 on the 2-up market with William Hill.
- West Ham have won just three of their thirteen league games in front of their own fans this season, but having seen five of their last six games in the top-flight produce the both teams to score, we could be in for an entertaining encounter.
——————————–———————— - Bournemouth are now six games unbeaten in the Premier League after their 2-1 victory away to Everton in their last outing, Andoni Iraola’s side had the luxury of a weekend off having not been involved in the FA Cup over the weekend, more time to prepare some might say.
- Having picked up just one away win in the league this season before their trip to Wolves at the end of January, the Cherries have now won consecutive away games in the league for the first time since in nearly a year, they are priced at 13/8 to make it three league wins in a row for the first time since 2024.
- Bournemouth having beaten West Ham since 2019 but it’s a fixture that tends to end in a stalemate, with each of the last five meetings ending in a scoredraw (3x 1-1, 2x 2-2), so i’m going to back goals with nothing to separate the two sides once again.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw (16/5), West Ham 2-2 Bournemouth (9/1).
Manchester City v Newcastle United – Saturday, 8pm
Punters can bet on Manchester City v Newcastle United with William Hill
- Manchester City continued their hunt of the Premier League title with a 3-0 victory against Fulham, they now sit just five points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, the momentum is well and truly with Pep Guardiola’s side.
- City have the chance to put some pressure on Arsenal given they play a day earlier than their title rivals, they return to the Etihad Stadium where they’ve lost none of their last twelve games (W10, D2), whilst they’ve won each of the last twelve meetings here against Newcastle, eight of which have come without conceding, it’s 2/1 for City to win to nil with William Hill.
- Manchester City are unbeaten in their last twenty-one Premier League home games against Newcastle, it’s hard to see how Manchester City don’t take all three points in this one given their current form and history of this fixture.
——————————–———————— - Newcastle United made it three wins in a row on Wednesday night after a huge 6-1 win against Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League, despite the win im not sure this Newcastle side will have enough time to recover from the 5-000 mile trip.
- This is actually the fourth game in a row that Newcastle have played away from home, having won the reverse fixture back in November (2-1), the Magpies are priced at 15/4 with William Hill to complete the first league double over City since the 1983-1984 campaign in the second tier.
- History really doesn’t favour the Magpies in this fixture, they are winless in their last thirty-seven Premier League trips to a top-two side (D5, L32) with their last win coming back in December 2001, that won’t fill Eddie Howe’s side with confidence.
Prediction: Manchester City To Score Over 2.5 Goals (6/5), Manchester City 3-0 Newcastle United (10/1).
