Premier League Odds: Predictions For Saturday 28th February

Bournemouth 4/5 to beat Sunderland, Burnley are EVS to get a least a draw, 13/2 for Liverpool to win 2-1 looks appealing, 21/20 for under 2.5 goals at St James’ Park, whilst you can back Erling Haaland to score a brace at 19/5, all with William Hill.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..

Round twenty-eight of this Premier League campaign will get underway on Friday evening with Wolves taking on Aston Villa under the lights.

On Saturday, five games are taking place up and down the country, starting on the south coast as Sunderland make the long trip to face Bournemouth at 12.30pm.

At 3pm, Burnley welcome Brentford to Turf Moor, Liverpool return to Anfield to take on West Ham, whilst Everton travel to the north east to face Newcastle at St James’ Park.

The evening game on Saturday comes from Yorkshire, as Manchester City take a trip over the Pennines to take on Leeds United at Elland Road.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Saturday’s fixtures:

Bournemouth v Sunderland – Saturday, 12.30pm

Punters can bet on Bournemouth v Sunderland with William Hill

  • Bournemouth are now seven games unbeaten in the Premier League after their goalless draw against West Ham on Saturday, Andoni Iraola’s side look to have turned their season around now and just two points off the top seven, the Cherries can start dreaming of Europe again in some capacity.
  • The Cherries return to familiar surroundings on Saturday where they’ve lost just two of their thirteen league games this season (W6, D5),  whilst three of Bournemouth’s last four home league games have all finished with a 3-2 scoreline, William Hill are offering 20/1 for this trend to continue.
  • Bournemouth actually lost the reverse fixture 3-2 back in November, whilst they’ve lost three of their four home league games against Sunderland, with the exception being a 2-0 victory in September 2015.
    ——————————–————————
  • Having impressed for the majority of the season, Sunderland travel to the south coast looking for a win to stop their current winless run of three games in the Premier League, with Sunday’s 3-1 defeat at Fulham meaning they’ve now lost three league games in a row for the first time this season.
  • The Black Cats are still dreaming of a European spot as well, despite sitting twelfth in the English top-flight, they remain just four points off the top seven and a victory here would see them leapfrog Bournemouth into eighth before the rest of Saturday’s action gets underway, they are 3/1 to win this one with William Hill.
  • Life on the road in the Premier League has been a struggle for the Black Cats, they’ve won just two of their thirteen away games thus far (D4, L7), whilst they are now winless in their last eight league away games, their last victory came back in October against Chelsea.

Prediction: Bournemouth To Win (4/5), Bournemouth 3-1 Sunderland (12/1).

Burnley v Brentford – Saturday, 3pm

Play with William Hill on Burnley v Brentford

  • Burnley will be hoping for a great escape this season and any slim chances of survival continued on Saturday after surprisingly picking up a point in a 1-1 draw away to Chelsea, that puts Scott Parker’s side now eight points from safety with eleven games left to play.
  • However, a return to Turf Moor doesn’t bode well for the Clarets as they’ve won just four of their last thirty-four Premier League home games, two of which came this season with only Wolves having a worse home record so far. Having said all that, they have lost just one of their last twelve home games in the league against Brentford (W7 D4), could there be value at 17/5 for a Burnley victory?
  • Goals aren’t to be expected in Lancashire on Saturday afternoon given just four of Burnley’s thirteen league games so far have produced three or more goals (a league low), whilst no side have scored less on home soil than Burnley’s twelve goals.
    ——————————–————————
  • It’s been an incredible season so far for Brentford under Keith Andrews, the Bees sit seventh in the Premier League as their European dreams are well and truly alive but they’ll be looking to bounce back on Saturday having suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brighton last weekend.
  • The Bees travel to Turf Moor in fine form on the road though, they’ve won six of their last seven away games in all competitions, with their only defeat in that time period coming at rivals Chelsea in January, they are priced at 11/5 to win this one to nil.
  • Brentford have won three of their last four league games against Burnley (L1) and are looking to complete the league double over the Clarets for just the second time after 1934-35, whilst the Bees have won ten of their last twelve league games against promoted sides.

Prediction: Burnley Or Draw (Double Chance – EVS), Burnley 1-1 Brentford (6/1).

Liverpool v West Ham – Saturday, 3pm

Fancy Liverpool to continue their top four hunt? Back with William Hill

  • Back-to-back 1-0 victories in the Premier League away at both Sunderland and Nottingham Forest has put Liverpool back in contention for a UEFA Champions League spot, with the Reds now just outside the top five on goal-difference, a victory here could even see them move up to fourth depending on how ruthless they are in front of goal.
  • Arne Slot’s side return to Anfield for the first time in the league since their dramatic 2-1 defeat against Manchester City but they’ll be expected to extend their winning streak to four games in all competitions here as they’ve lost just one of their last nineteen Premier League games against West Ham, the Reds are priced at 3/4 to win this one along with three or more match goals with the leading bookmaker.
  • This is a fixture that tends to produce plenty of goals, eleven of the last fifteen meetings between these two sides have produced at least three goals, whilst Liverpool have won each of their last ten home meetings in all competitions against West Ham, with the last four seeing the Hammers score one.
    ——————————–————————
  • West Ham are not giving up on the Premier League, they looked down and out a few weeks ago but the Hammers have now lost just one of their last six Premier League games and head to Anfield unbeaten in their last four games after their goalless draw with Bournemouth last weekend.
  • However, that run looks like it will come to an end on Saturday afternoon if history is anything to go by, as West Ham have won just one of their last fifty-two away league games against Liverpool (D12 L39), beating them 3-0 in August 2015 under Slaven Bilic, you can back the Irons at 11/2 to cause an upset in this one.
  • It’s really hard to put a case together for West Ham given their record here at Anfield but i do think they’ll get themselves on the scoresheet, i’m going to back the Reds to win this one but without keeping a clean sheet.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Liverpool To Win (6/4), Liverpool 2-1 West Ham (13/2).

Newcastle United v Everton – Saturday, 3pm

Punters can get involved in this fixture with William Hill

  • Newcastle United confirmed their place in the UEFA Champions League last sixteen in the week with a 3-2 victory here against Qarabag to secure a 9-3 aggregate scoreline, that’s now four wins from their last five games but it’s their league form which is becoming a concern.
  • Sandwiched between their UEFA Champions League outings, the Magpies suffered a 2-1 defeat at Manchester City last weekend, making it just one win in their last six Premier League games, Eddie Howe’s side are nine points off the top five, with William Hill pricing them up at 7/10 to win here.
  • Newcastle United won the reverse fixture 4-1 back in November and a win here would complete the double over Everton for the sixth time, only against Spurs have the Magpies got a better record in terms of completing the double.
    ——————————–————————
  • Everton faced Manchester United on home soil on Monday night and suffered a 1-0 defeat which is now six defeats at home for the Toffees, yet despite that defeat, David Moyes’ side sit just three points off the top seven as they head to the north east this weekend.
  • It’s fair to say that Everton prefer life on the road at the moment, they’ve lost just one of their last nine Premier League road trips (W5, D3) whilst they head to Newcastle unbeaten in eahc of their last five and will be looking to replicate their 1-0 win here last season, they are priced at a huge 12/1 with William Hill to do just that.
  • Everton have seen just nine of their twenty-seven games produce three or more goals which is a league-low, whilst only three of those have occurred away from home, i’m expecting a tight encounter in this one and i’ll back a draw.

Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals (21/20), Newcastle United 1-1 Everton (11/2).

Leeds v Manchester City – Saturday, 5.30pm

Manchester City looking to keep the pressure on Arsenal, bet on Leeds v Man City with William Hill.

  • Leeds United continue to defy the odds in the Premier League and pick up points to increase their odds of safety this season, a 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa last weekend makes it just one defeat (v Arsenal) in their last five PL outings.
  • Since the start of December, Leeds United have drawn more games than any other Premier League side whilst they were drawing 2-2 in the reverse fixture before late heartbreak for the Whites, if you fancy more of the same on Saturday you can back a draw at 16/5 with William Hill.
  • The worry for Leeds is the fact they’ve lost each of the last five games against Manchester City since their 2-1 win back in 2021, whilst they’ve seen each of the last six meetings between the two sides produce at least three goals.
    ——————————–————————
  • Manchester City continued their hunt of the Premier League title with a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United on Saturday night, they now sit just five points behind Arsenal with a game in hand, the momentum is well and truly with Pep Guardiola’s side.
  • Erling Haaland returns to his birthplace on Saturday and will be looking to add to his twenty-two league goals already, he scored a brace the last time he played here at Elland Road and can be backed to score at least two goals again at 19/5 with William Hill.
  • Manchester City have the chance to put some pressure on Arsenal before their game on Sunday afternoon, i’m expecting goals in this one given six of City’s last eight Premier League away games produced over 2.5 total goals.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Man City To Win (2/1), Leeds United 1-3 Manchester City (11/1).
