- Final One Standing Predictions
We’re in for another weekend full of drama in the Premier League and Sunday will provide us with four games from around the country.
At 2pm, Newcastle travel to the capital to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa battle it out for a much-needed three points at the City Ground, whilst Tottenham are another side desperate for a win, they travel to Sunderland.
At 4.30pm, Manchester City will be hoping to keep their title dreams alive when they visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Sunday’s fixtures:
Crystal Palace v Newcastle – Sunday, 2pm
Odds are moving – check the latest here.
- Crystal Palace return to Selhurst Park having put themselves in pole position in terms of reaching the UEFA Conference League semi-final after beating Fiorentina 3-0 here on Thursday night, whilst victory here could see Oliver Glasner’s side move above Newcastle.
- However, history suggests that victory could be hard to come by given they’ve won just one of their last nine league games immediately following a European outing (D2, L6), William Hill have priced the Eagles at 2/1 to win here.
- Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last ten home hames against the Magpies (W3 D6), whilst three of the last four Premier League meetings here in south London between the pair have ended in a stalemate.
——————————– - Newcastle United headed into the international break with huge questions being asked of their manager Eddie Howe, the uncertainty around his future stems from recent results with a 7-2 thumping against Barcelona was followed up with a humiliating 2-1 defeat at home to rivals Sunderland.
- The Magpies have won just four of their fifteen league games away from home this season, whilst a victory here would secure consecutive away wins in the league for the first time since April 2025, punters can back Newcastle at 5/4 with William Hill.
- I’m finding it hard to separate these two sides, Crystal Palace will probably have their eyes on next week’s UECL second-leg but it’s hard to ignore a score draw in this one, especially given seven of Newcastle’s last eight league games have seen both teams find the back of the net.
Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa – Sunday, 2pm
View all Premier League odds and markets.
- It’s been a good few weeks for Nottingham Forest, their big 3-0 victory away at Tottenham moved the Tricky Trees to three points from the drop and have all the momentum, even more so following their 1-1 draw with Porto in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final first leg on Thursday night.
- Vítor Pereira’s side are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions but returning to the City Ground will be a little concerning as they’ve won none of their last seven Premier League games here, Forest can be backed at 13/8 to win with William Hill.
- The last four meetings between these two sides have seen both teams find the back of the net, whilst Nottingham Forest haven’t suffered defeat here in this fixture since returning to the top-flight.
——————————– - Aston Villa’s fine form in Europe continued on Thursday night with an impressive 3-1 victory away at Bologna in the UEFA Europa League, becoming just the sixth English club in history to win eight UEL games in a row.
- With their focus quickly shifting towards Sunday’s fixture, Aston Villa will have the chance to move above Manchester United into third before their Monday night encounter, victory here would also see the Villans complete the league double over Forest for the first time since 2017/2018.
- Aston Villa have lost both of their last two away games in the Premier League, last losing more in a row between November and December 2024 (5), the leading bookmaker have Villa at 13/8 to put an end to that run.
Sunderland v Tottenham – Sunday, 2pm
View all available markets at William Hill.
- Sunderland went into the recent international break in style having beat their arch-rivals Newcastle on their own turf and it’s another three points for the Black Cats which keeps them in contention for a top seven finish, now just three points behind Brentford.
- Régis Le Bris’ side will be looking to stop the rot on home soil though, having gone twelve games in the league without defeat, they’ve now lost each of their last three games in front of their own fans, you can back them at 13/8 with William Hill to end that run with a win.
- Sunderland are one of three teams yet to lose a Premier League game they scored first in this season, so getting themselves in front could prove vital on Sunday, they had to come from behind in the reverse fixture to take a point with a 1-1 draw back in January.
——————————– - It’s been all change at Tottenham since their 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest, Igor Tudor left the club and Roberto de Zerbi is now the man hoping to keep Spurs in the Premier League, they’ve got seven games left to avoid relegation.
- Tottenham Hotspur remain winless in 13 Premier League games (D5 L8); only once in their league history have they had a longer run without victory, going 16 matches from December 1934 to April 1935, they are also 13/8 to win here with the leading bookmaker.
- As always, we’ve got to take into consideration the ‘new manager bounce’ and given Spurs are unbeaten in their last fifteen Premier League games against Sunderland, there’s definitely hope here for Tottenham Hotspur.
Chelsea v Manchester City – Sunday, 4.30pm
See how the odds stack up across every market.
- Chelsea put an end to their four game losing streak last weekend with an emphatic 7-0 victory against EFL League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final but with just one win in their last six Premier League games, the Blues need a win here.
- Victory in this one for Chelsea does seem a big ask especially given they’re winless in their last nine Premier League games against Man City (D3 L6) since a 2-1 away win in May 2021, William Hill have Liam Rosenior’s side at 2/1 to pick up three points at Stamford Bridge.
- If the Blues don’t win this one in front of their own fans, it’ll be the first time since 2023 in which they’ve gone four home games without a win in the top-flight, things could start to feel toxic at the Bridge.
——————————– - Manchester City have shown in recent weeks that they are still capable of winning this Premier League title despite not playing a league game for nearly a month, wins against Arsenal and Liverpool in the EFL Cup and FA Cup respectively show they are still dangerous.
- Pep Guardiola’s side are nine points behind Arsenal at the summit albeit having played a game less and with the two sides still to face each other, City will just want to make sure they are hanging on to Arsenal’s tail, City to win here at 23/20 looks good value with William Hill.
- Manchester City have won four of their last five away Premier League games against Chelsea (D1), whilst they’ve scored first in each of their last five top-flight fixtures, it’s hard to ignore this price.
