This midweek will see the Premier League get underway for Matchday fourteen of this campaign, with the table starting to take shape and a few teams already upsetting the apple cart, we’re all set for another weekend of pure PL drama.
@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the English Premier League..
Wednesday night offers up six games from the Premier League, the league leaders Arsenal welcome Brentford to the Emirates Stadium, Brighton & Hove Albion take on Aston Villa, Crystal Palace make the trip to Lancashire to face Burnley at Turf Moor, with Wolves and Nottingham Forest also kicking off at 7.30pm.
Later in the evening, struggling Leeds United take on high-flying Chelsea, whilst Liverpool and Sunderland battle it out at Anfield at 8.15pm. Make sure to check out this weeks Acca on William Hill News.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Premier League odds and Premier League betting angles for Wednesday’s fixtures:
Arsenal v Brentford – Wednesday, 7.30pm
Punters can bet on Arsenal v Brentford with William Hill
- Arsenal head into matchday fourteen top of the Premier League and give points clear at the time of writing having lost just one of their thirteen games so far and with only seven goals conceded, the Gunners look like real title contenders.
- Mikel Arteta will feel a little frustrated though with their recent trip to Stamford Bridge, having left with only a point despite having a man advantage for the majority of the game. They return to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday where they’ve not lost any of their last eleven games in all competitions.
- Playing midweek is a good omen for Arsenal as they have scored at least two goals in five of their last six Premier League games on a Wednesday, in addition two of their last three meetings with Brentford.
——————————–———————— - Brentford bounced back from their disappointing defeat against Brighton with a 3-1 victory against Burnley but Keith Andrews side left it late, with all four match goals coming in the last ten minutes of the game, crazy.
- The Bees enter Matchday fourteen in midtable and sit just three points off where they’ve been at this stage in their last four seasons, suggesting that Keith Andrews is working well with his new side.
- Victory in this one seems like a big ask for Brentford though, not only because Arsenal are the league leaders but the fact they’ve failed to win nineteen of their last twenty-three PL London derbies suggests this could be a tough night. Having said that, the Bees have managed to get themselves on the scoresheet in their last six visits to Arsenal.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Arsenal To Win, Arsenal 3-1 Brentford.
William Hill Epic Boosts
Declan Rice To Score Or Assist (Impact Sub Applies) – Was 5/4 Now 2/1
- Declan Rice has scored or assisted in three of his last six games for Arsenal.

Brighton v Aston Villa – Wednesday, 7.30pm
Punters can bet on Brighton v Aston Villa with William Hill
- Brighton are a side that continue to climb the PL table, unbeaten in their last four (W3, D1) including their 2-0 win away at Nottingham Forest last weekend has seen the Seagulls enter matchday fourteen in fifth place, just three points off second spot.
- The Seagulls return to the south coast on Wednesday evening and given they remain just one of four sides in the Premier League yet to lose on home soil this season, confidence will be high. Fabian Hurzeler’s side have to chance to win four consecutive top-flight home games for the first time ever.
- I think we could be in for goals in this one though, Brighton top the table in terms of ‘both teams to score’ on home soil, with five of their six outings here (83%) producing just that, whilst they’ve scored two or more goals in each of their last five games at home.
——————————– - Aston Villa have found some form as we head towards the Christmas period they’ve won eleven of their last thirteen games in all competitions (L2), including their last five outings, most recently another home victory against their Midlands rivals Wolves.
- Unai Emery’s side have been brilliant on home soil but they’ve struggled on the road, having won just three of their nine road trips this season, although they did manage victory in their last away game at Leeds United (1-2).
- Despite that away form, Aston Villa have a really strong record against Brighton, having lost just one of their previous nine Premier League meetings (W6, D2, L1), i’m going to back both teams to get themselves on the scoresheet in this one but nothing will separate the two sides.
Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Draw, Brighton 2-2 Aston Villa.
Burnley v Crystal Palace – Wednesday, 7.30pm
Punters can bet on Burnley v Crystal Palace with William Hill
- Burnley return to Turf Moor having suffered their four defeat in a row after a 3-1 defeat at Brentford on Saturday, the Clarets are just starting to struggle but despite being in the bottom three after thirteen games, they are just one point from safety.
- Scott Parker must be concerned a little though, especially as he’s seen his side concede at least two goals in each of their last five league games, whilst they’ve remarkably only won one of their last twenty-three games on home soil against non newly-promoted sides.
- Goals might be hard to come by in this one, as Burnley have seen all six of their league games at Turf Moor this season produce less than three goals, averaging a league-low 1.8 goals per game (scored 5, conceded 6).
——————————– - Crystal Palace had a five game unbeaten run prior to their trip to France in the Europa League but have since lost back-to-back games including Sunday’s game against Manchester United despite taking the lead.
- If the Eagles lose this one on Wednesday it’ll be three consecutive defeats in just under a week and the first time it’s occurred under Oliver Glasner since October 2024 but with one defeat in their last seventeen Premier League games against newly-promoted sides, this could be a good chance to bounce back.
- Palace have won the last two meetings between these two sides, whilst they’ve won three of their last five visits to Turf Moor, i’m going to back the away side to pick up all three points in this one and pile the misery on the Clarets.
Prediction: Crystal Palace To Win To Nil, Burnley 0-2 Crystal Palace.
Wolves v Nottingham Forest – Wednesday, 7.30pm
Punters can bet on Wolves v Nottingham Forest with William Hill
- Wolves sit bottom of the Premier League table and remain the only side that are still yet to pick up three points so far, with history showing that no side have ever survived relegation with a points tally as low as that of Wolves at this stage of the season, eye-opening.
- The Old Gold are winless in their last seventeen games in the league and are now just one of three sides across Europe’s top-five leagues that are yet to win a league fixture this season, it’s really not looking good.
- Rob Edwards has a big job on his hands with this one and his first task will be to simply stop the rot, Wolves have conceded at least three goals in four of their six home games this season, they also conceded three in this fixture back in January.
——————————– - Back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since April moved Nottingham Forest out of the bottom three but Sean Dyche’s side couldn’t build on that run of form and suffered their seventh defeat of the season against Brighton on Sunday.
- However, victory in this one against the league’s bottom side could secure consecutive back-to-back victories away from home for the first time since January for the Tricky Trees, they’ve also won five successive league games in December.
- It’s hard to back against Nottingham Forest in this one given the circumstances and with twelve of their last thirteen league outings producing at least two goals, we could be in for some goals with this away win.
Prediction: Nottingham Forest To Win, Wolves 1-2 Nottingham Forest.
Leeds v Chelsea – Wednesday, 8.15pm
Punters can bet on Leeds v Chelsea with William Hill
- The pressure has ramped up now on Daniel Farke after seeing his side slip into the bottom three four defeats in a row but his side can count themselves slightly unlucky after conceding late on away to Manchester City, losing the game 3-2.
- Saturday’s defeat means Leeds have now conceded two or more goals in seven of their last eight games, whilst they’ve also conceded three goals in three of their last five meetings against the Blues.
- The Yorkshire side have won just one of their last twelve midweek matches which doesn’t bode well for Wednesday’s fixture but they did win the last meeting between the pair at Elland Road 3-0 back in August 2022.
——————————– - Chelsea come into this one unbeaten in their last seven outings in all competitions having taken a point off Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon despite playing the majority of the game with ten men.
- Discipline again has been an issue for Enzo Maresca’s side having already received four red cards from their first thirteen Premier League games, it’s no surprise that it’s more than any other side so far.
- Despite the brilliant form of Chelsea, they’ve won just six of their forty-eight league games against Leeds at Elland Road (D13, L29) which is an incredible stat, but i’m backing the potential title contenders to just get over the line in this one.
Prediction: Chelsea To Score Over 1.5 Goals, Leeds 1-2 Chelsea.
Liverpool v Sunderland – Wednesday, 8.15pm
Punters can bet on Liverpool v Sunderland with William Hill
- Liverpool had lost each of their last three games by a 3+ goal margin for the first time since December 1953 before heading to West Ham on Sunday, they tend to have a good record against the Hammers and that came to fruition again, with a much-needed 2-0 win.
- Arne Slot is a man under huge pressure right now, it’s hard to believe this squad almost walked to the Premier League title last season and anything other than a victory is this one will simply not be good enough, defeat here would make it back-to-back Premier League defeats at Anfield for the first time since September 2012.
- The Reds should be confident of picking up three points though if history is anything to go by, they’re unbeaten in their last ten Premier League games against Sunderland (W6, D4) whilst they’ve not lost against the Black Cats on home soil since 1983.
——————————– - It’s been a remarkable return to the Premier League for Sunderland who enter Matchday fourteen in sixth place having lost just three of their first thirteen games in the English top-flight, incredible.
- The Black Cats put an end to their three game winless run on Saturday after coming from two goals behind to beat Bournemouth 3-2 at the Stadium of Light, they’ve now avoided defeat in nine of their last eleven matches.
- However, i still feel like this is a tough ask for Sunderland despite Liverpool’s recent issues, they’ve taken just seven points from a possible eighteen away from home whilst the club have lost thirteen of their previous sixteen away games against the PL reigning champions.
Prediction: Liverpool -1 Handicap, Liverpool 2-0 Sunderland.
