A hectic January schedule shows no signs of slowing down with more midweek Premier League fixtures taking place on Tuesday evening. We take a look at the standout fixtures from this week…
United to go top?
Manchester United travel to Turf Moor on Tuesday in a fixture which could see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side go top of the Premier League.
United head into this fixture full of confidence due to their brilliant recent Premier League form. The Red Devils have won eight of their last 10 league games and a point against Burnley will see them go first in the league, overtaking arch rivals Liverpool in the process. The man to watch this week is Marcus Rashford who has scored six goals in seven away games in the Premier League this season. He’s never previously netted more than six away from home in a single campaign. The striker is priced at 13/10 to score anytime on Tuesday evening.
Burnley, on the other hand, are slowly starting to put together a good run of form. Sean Dyche’s side currently sit five points above the relegation zone and they will have the opportunity to record three consecutive Premier League wins at Turf Moor for the first time since January 2017 on Tuesday evening. The Clarets head into this fixture as 13/2 underdogs.
Will Spurs continue to dominate Fulham?
Spurs currently sit in fourth position in the Premier League but a win against Fulham would see them climb the table into third place on goal difference. Spurs head into this fixture as 2/5 favourites which makes sense due to their impressive record against the Cottagers which has seen them win 10 of their last 11 in the league.
Fulham have had a slow start to life back in the Premier League, but they are beginning to find their feet back in the topflight. The west London outfit have drawn four games in a row and now sit only three points off Brighton in 17th.
Fulham have lost their last 13 Premier League London derbies, an all-time record in the top-flight and are priced as 7/1 underdogs to pull off a seemingly unlikely victory against Jose Mourinho’s side.
Arsenal to end their Palace hoodoo?
A rejuvenated Arsenal side host Crystal Palace at the Emirates in another London derby this week but can Mikel Arteta’s side continue their good form?
Arsenal are currently on a streak of three Premier League wins in a row after beating Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom but if they manage to defeat Crystal Palace, they would have won four consecutive league fixtures for the first time since October 2018. Their star man in recent weeks has been Bukayo Saka, who has been involved with three goals in his last three appearances. You can get him to score anytime at 19/10.
Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last two Premier League fixtures and they will be heading into Thursday’s fixture full of confidence given their recent form against the Gunners. Roy Hodgson’s side are currently unbeaten in their last four fixtures against Arsenal and they will be looking to extend that run once more. Luka Milivojević has scored in five of his last six fixtures against Arsenal and he is 8/1 to find the back of the net once again.
