Premier League Sack Race: Frank still under pressure as Parker closes in
Seventeen gameweeks into the 2025/26 Premier League season, four managers have already left their posts and the Sack Race market continues to evolve after the latest round of fixtures. With pressure building at both ends of the table, the odds show a tightly packed group of bosses who could be next to depart.
Thomas Frank – 9/4
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank remains at the head of the market at 9/4. Spurs’ 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool has increased the scrutiny around the Dane, with frustration growing over results in big games and a lack of consistency against sides around them. Performances have shown flashes of the progressive football Frank brought from Brentford, but home losses and missed opportunities have left Tottenham drifting away from the leading pack and kept their manager under intense pressure. Given Spurs’ history with moving managers on if they don’t produce results, we could yet see Frank’s price shorten further around the festive season.
Scott Parker – 3/1
Scott Parker is now the outright second-favourite at 3/1 and continues to feel the strain at Burnley. A 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth did little to ease relegation concerns, with the Clarets once again failing to find three points. Issues in both boxes – a struggle to create clear chances and lapses at the back – have left Burnley stuck near the bottom, and the odds reflect the growing possibility that the board may consider a change to spark a survival push.
Arne Slot – 5/1
Liverpool manager Arne Slot has eased slightly in the betting to 5/1, helped by that 2-1 win at Spurs. The result offered some breathing space after recent questions over defensive errors and missed chances, and keeps Liverpool in touch with the European places. Expectations at Anfield remain high and any extended poor run would again bring scrutiny, but for now the market suggests Slot’s position is more secure than it was a few weeks ago. However, with the list of injuries mounting for Liverpool, Slot could find himself in hot water once again if his star players can’t play – namely Alexander Isak.
Daniel Farke – 6/1
Leeds boss Daniel Farke is 6/1 after his side’s impressive 4-1 home win over Crystal Palace. That result displayed Leeds’ attacking threat and gave supporters fresh optimism, but the wider picture remains one of inconsistency. Defensive lapses have cost points earlier in the campaign and, while recent performances have been positive, another downturn could quickly see Farke move back towards the top of the betting.
Rob Edwards – 6/1
Rob Edwards, Wolves’ new boss succeeded Vitor Pereira, has remained at 6/1. Wolves’ 2-0 home defeat to Brentford leave them rooted to the bottom, but Edwards’ reputation in the Championship and the sense that the club may already be planning ahead for next season could help him keep his job in the short term, even if results remain poor.
