Aaron Ramsdale transfer odds

The summer transfer window rumour mill continues to turn ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season and Aaron Ramsdale is the next name to come to the fore.
Not long ago the Englishman was considered one of the best shot-stoppers in the country, starting every game in the 2022/23 season as Arsenal finished second in the Premier League.
Since then he has been replaced by Spanish goalkeeper David Raya and Ramsdale now finds himself in a position where he may have to leave to keep his hopes of replacing Jordan Pickford as England’s number one alive.
We take a look at which clubs are leading the race for Ramsdale’s signature below.
Bet on Aaron Ramsdale’s next move with William Hill
Newcastle – EVS
Newcastle have been leading the race to sign Aaron Ramsdale ever since it was made clear that he wanted a move away from the Emirates.
With Nick Pope proving to be too injury-prone, the Magpies may be looking to bring in a keeper who is more capable with the ball at his feet to suit their style of play under Eddie Howe.
Whilst Ramsdale would be swapping title challenges and Champions League football for a Newcastle side who won’t have European football next season, what he will crave more than anything else is consistent game time.
With Howe looking to turn Newcastle into a dominant side who can consistently compete in Europe, a goalkeeper with Ramsdale’s ball-playing abilities will be crucial and he could well be the long-term option between the sticks at St James’ Park.
Atlético Madrid – 11/2
Next on the list for Ramsdale is a move abroad to the Spanish capital as Atlético Madrid are rumoured to be in the race for his signature.
Jan Oblak has been Diego Simeone’s first choice between the sticks for the past nine seasons and in that time he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. However, the Slovenian international is now the wrong side of 30 and Atlético may view Ramsdale as the man to carry on a history of great goalkeepers at the club.
Aged just 26, Ramsdale could have another decade of top-level action ahead of him and consistent minutes in the biggest competitions at one of Europe’s most recognisable clubs could be a great way to weave his way back into the England setup.
Southampton – 8/1
Newly promoted Southampton could look to land a marquee signing between the sticks and the signing of Aaron Ramsdale would surely raise a few eyebrows on the south coast.
Ramsdale has spent some time down there, spending three years at Bournemouth where he burst onto the scene, winning Player of the Year in his final season with the club.
As one of the three new teams in the Premier League this season, the Saints will likely be fighting relegation and that would be some step down for the former title-chaser.
Nonetheless, Ramsdale made a name for himself as an elite shot-stopper for those battling relegation at Bournemouth and Sheffield United and a move to Southampton could well bring the best out of him.
