Premier League Betting Preview: The fight for survival hots up

| BY News Team

While eyes will be on Wembley for this weekend’s FA Cup semi-finals, there’s still lots of Premier League action to enjoy.

Leaders Man City will hope to bounce back from their Champions League exit in the cup semi-final with Chelsea. City’s cup exploits mean Arsenal – who also exited Europe on Wednesday – and Liverpool can reignite their title hopes after league defeats last weekend.

But it’s a particularly big weekend at the bottom, with some huge clashes between sides desperately fighting to avoid relegation. And that’s where we’ll focus this week’s preview.

As always, we’ll have great offers on all the action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more. And, if you’ve not used it already, don’t forget your Epic Boost is available before you get a new one on Sunday.

So, let’s look at three relegation six-pointers in the Premier League this weekend…

Luton v Brentford – Saturday @ 15:00

Luton start the weekend in the bottom three after slipping back into trouble as Nottingham Forest earned a point against Wolves. They host Brentford at Kenilworth Road, where a win could see them climb above Forest and Everton.

Here are some top bets for Luton v Brentford:

Luton to win – 21/10

  • Brentford have lost both of their Premier League away games against promoted sides this season.
  • The Bees lost 1-0 at Sheffield Utd and were beaten 2-1 by Burnley at Turf Moor.
  • Luton are looking to record back-to-back home wins after beating Bournemouth 2-1 last time out at Kenilworth Road.

First goal to be an own goal – 14/1

  • Only Sheffield Utd (6) have conceded more own goals in the Premier League this season than Luton (4).
  • Luton have scored own goals in three of their last four league matches.

Ross Barkley to score the last goal – 9/1

  • Barkley has scored five Premier League goals for Luton this season, only netting more in 2015/16 (8) and 2013/14 (6).
  • Barkley’s latest goal came last weekend in their 5-1 defeat at Man City.
  • Luton have scored a league-high 39% of their Premier League goals in the final 15 minutes of games this season (18/46).

Sheff Utd v Burnley – Saturday @ 15:00

The bottom two go toe-to-toe at Bramall Lane on Saturday with the Premier League hopes hanging by a thread. The Blades sit 10 points from safety, while Burnley are only four points better off. Who will give their slim chances of survival a boost?

Here are some top bets for Sheffield Utd v Burnley:

Sheffield Utd to come from behind to win – 17/2

  • Burnley have dropped 24 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season, with only Brentford (30) losing more.
  • Sheffield Utd have lost just one of their last 20 home league games against Burnley (W14 D5).
  • Indeed, the Blades have won both of their Premier League games against the Clarets at Bramall Lane.

Oli McBurnie to score or assist & be carded – 6/1 with Build #YourOdds

  • McBurnie is Sheffield Utd’s top scorer this season with six Premier League goals.
  • All six of his goals have come at Bramall Lane.
  • He’s been booked in two of his last five league games and no player has been sent off more than him this season (2).

Burnley to win and BTTS – 3/1

  • Sheffield Utd have kept just one clean sheet this season. While Burnley have only kept two.
  • United have lost 10 of their 16 home games this season (W2 D4).
  • Burnley won the reverse fixture 5-0 in December.

Everton v Forest – Sunday @ 13:30

After points deductions both Everton and Nottingham Forest are bang in trouble this season. Forest are a point above the drop zone, while Everton are a place and a point better off. Can one of these strugglers begin their escape?

Here are some top bets for Everton v Forest:

Everton to win to nil – 12/5

  • Each of Everton’s last 10 Premier League home wins has been to nil, with the Toffees failing to win any of their last 22 at Goodison Park when conceding (D5 L17).
  • Forest have won just one of their last eight Premier League games against Everton (D2 L5).
  • Everton won the reverse fixture 1-0 in early December. Dwight McNeil scored the winning goal in the 67th

Match Result – Draw – 13/5

  • Of the 17 ever-present sides in the Premier League since the start of last season, Forest have won the fewest away games (3).
  • While in the same timeframe, Everton have won the fewest home games (10).
  • Both fixtures between these sides last season ended level.

Chris Wood to score the first goal – 9/2

  • Wood has scored 12 goals from 31 shots in the Premier League this season.
  • He has the best conversion rate of any player with 10+ attempts (38.7%).
  • The striker has scored four goals in his last five Premier League games.
