Premier League Betting Preview: Who you got this midweek?

| BY News Team

Arsenal sit atop the Premier League heading into a midweek round of games in the top flight. Can they extend their advantage over the chasing pack?

Liverpool are their nearest challengers after a late winner against Fulham, while Man City dropped points as they were held by Spurs in a six-goal thriller at the Etihad.

At the bottom, Sheffield United look set to part company with Paul Heckingbottom after their 5-0 drubbing at Burnley. Will the Blades bounce back against Liverpool?

We’ll have great offers on all the midweek action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more.

To get you ready, let’s look at three of this week’s Premier League matches…

Aston Villa v Man City

Villa Park

Wednesday, 6th December @ 20:15

Dejan Kulusevski’s late header saw Man City draw a third successive league game on Sunday. They will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday.

Villa also had to share the spoils on Sunday, but they needed a 90th-minute Ollie Watkins goal to draw 2-2 with Bournemouth.

They go into this match just a point behind City and with a sensational home record. Since losing to Arsenal in February, Villa have won their last 13 league home games. Get 3/1 on them extending that to 14.

City have an impressive record against Villa, though, winning 11 of their last 13 meetings (D2). Back City to win and both teams to score at 19/10.

Both sides have strikers in form. Watkins has 11 in his last 15 league games. He’s 9/5 to net at any time against City. Meanwhile, Erling Haaland has scored a brace in his last two Premier League away games. Get 4/1 on him bagging another double.

Man Utd v Chelsea

Old Trafford

Wednesday, 6th December @ 20:15

Both Man Utd and Chelsea are top-four contenders this season, but inconsistencies in their games see them go into the midweek round seventh and tenth respectively.

United have had the better of this rivalry since 2017, winning seven and drawing four of the 11 games. They’re 7/4 to beat Chelsea on Wednesday, while the draw is 13/5.

The last four meetings have seen both teams score. A United win and BTTS is 19/5. However, they come into this one on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

Chelsea got back to winning ways at the weekend as they crept past Brighton at Stamford Bridge with 10 men. They’ve only won consecutive league games twice in 2023. Can they close the gap on United? A Blues win is 13/10.

Raheem Sterling could be key to their chances. He’s impressed on the road this season with two goals and an assist in his last three away league games. Sterling is 2/1 to score at Old Trafford.

Everton v Newcastle

Goodison Park

Thursday, 7th December @ 19:30

Everton may be in the Premier League bottom three after their points deduction, but the Toffees are in good form, winning five of their last nine games. Saturday’s 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest lifted them within two points of escaping the relegation zone.

But they face a tough challenge in recording back-to-back wins when they welcome Newcastle to Goodison Park on Thursday. Everton are 2/1 to get the win.

When these sides met back in April, also on a Thursday, Newcastle ran out 4-1 winners thanks to a Callum Wilson double. He’ll be missing this time, though, due to a hamstring injury.

The game sees Anthony Gordon return to his boyhood club. The Newcastle forward is in fine form, scoring three times in his last four league games – including the winner over Man Utd on Saturday. Gordon is 6/1 to net the opener and 5/2 to score at any time.
