Premier League Betting Preview: Who you got this weekend?

| BY News Team

Christmas is almost here, but before you get to unwrap the presents and enjoy a turkey feast there’s a round of Premier League games to enjoy.

Crystal Palace v Brighton kicks things off tonight before Aston Villa have the chance to move top of the table when they host Sheffield United tomorrow.

Saturday sees six matches, including a top-of-the-table clash between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield. The final match of the round comes from Molineux as Wolves host Chelsea in the Premier League’s first Christmas Eve game in 28 years.

As always, we’ll have great offers on all the action, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds much more. And don’t forget, you’re Epic Boost will refresh on Sunday morning.

To get you ready, let’s look at three of this week’s Premier League matches…

Aston Villa v Sheffield United

Villa Park

Friday, 22nd December @ 20:00

Villa’s sensational form continued at Brentford last weekend when they came from a goal down to win 2-1. That was their 25th league win of the year – their most in the top flight in a single calendar year.

Only Man City have won more points than Villa in 2023, fancy Unai Emery’s side to close that gap when they welcome Sheffield United to fortress Villa Park? It’s 13/8 they win a game with under 2.5 goals. Villa are unbeaten in a record 15 home league games and have not lost to the Blades on home soil since 1966.

United will need to come up with a plan to stop the in-form Ollie Watkins. The England striker has 49 Premier League goals and can become the third Villa player to reach 50 goals after Gabriel Agbonlahor (74) and Dwight Yorke (60). Watkins is 3/1 to net the opener.

Stopping the Villa machine is not going to be easy for United. They’ll need to be combative to disrupt their play – although that ultimately didn’t work for Brentford. That could lead to cards and Jack Robinson looks a good bet to see yellow. He’s been booked in three of his last five league games and is 7/4 to get another at Villa Park.

Liverpool v Arsenal

Anfield

Saturday, 23rd December @ 17:30

Villa could go top of the table with a win over Sheffield United, but the team who finishes the year at the summit is likely to be decided at Anfield as Liverpool host Arsenal.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 10 home league games against the Gunners (W7 D3) and have scored 43 goals in the last 15 meetings between the sides. Get 3/1 on over 2.5 Liverpool goals in this one.

However, this Arsenal team are different to their predecessors. They’ve conceded the joint-fewest number of goals this season (15 – same as Liverpool) and have kept a league-high seven clean sheets. A 0-0 draw is 14/1.

David Raya can expect a busy afternoon in the Arsenal goal. This season, Liverpool have had more shots (314) than any other Premier League side. That’s 18.5 efforts per game. It’s 27/10 that the Reds have over 16 efforts on Raya’s goal.

At the other end of the pitch, Arsenal will be hoping Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus continue their fine form against Liverpool.

Martinelli scored and assisted in both matches last season and has more goals against the Reds than any other (4). He’s 3/1 to net at any time.

Meanwhile, Jesus has either scored or assisted on each of his last three visits to Anfield. Get 9/2 on the Brazilian scoring the first or last goal.

Wolves v Chelsea

Molineux

Sunday, 24th December @ 13:00

Chelsea booked their EFL Cup semi-final place on Tuesday with a penalty shootout win over Newcastle. Could that be the turning point for Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues?

They travel to Molineux on Christmas Eve looking to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League for only the third time in 2023. However, Chelsea have lost their last three on the road in the league, and Wolves are unbeaten in six home games (W3 D3).

A Wolves win in this one is 13/5, while it’s 29/10 that Chelsea win and both teams score. Wolves have found the net in each of their last 15 home league games – their longest scoring streak at Molineux in the top flight since 1969/70.

Hwang Hee-chan will be key to Wolves’ chances. Only Mohamed Salah (8) has scored more home league goals than the South Korean this season (6). Hwang is 2/1 to net at any time and 12/1 to net two or more.

Molineux is a happy hunting ground for Raheem Sterling. The Chelsea forward has been involved in five goals in four games at the ground. It’s 3/1 Sterling nets in a Chelsea win.
