Final One Standing 2026/27: Gameweek 6 Predictions

The Premier League returns after the extended international break, and attention turns to the decision that matters most: finding a winning pick to keep your Final One Standing campaign alive.

With £50,000 on the line, here are four options—from the strongest model favourite to a differential that could help you save other teams for later rounds. As always after an international window, check the latest injury updates before locking in your selection.

Arsenal vs Leeds United

The numbers point to Arsenal this weekend, but Leeds deserve respect, especially with several injury concerns for the Gunners.

Unbeaten after five matches, with two wins, three draws and just three goals conceded, Leeds have made an impressive start. Arsenal, however, have the strongest defensive foundation in the top flight, with only one goal against at The Emirates.

They have a league-low 4.04 xGC and have allowed just 14 shots on target, with fewer than half coming from inside the penalty area. That could be particularly important against Leeds, whose attacking threat relies heavily on dead-ball chance creation. Those set-piece situations have produced three goals and 3.16 xG—approximately 41% of their overall expected-goals total.

From open play, Leeds’ progression has been less convincing, with only 244 final-third passes, the lowest in the Premier League, at a 54.1% success rate. With only two through-balls over the first five game weeks, Leeds sit joint-bottom with Coventry. For context, Manchester City have attempted nineteen…

Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains the Lilywhites’ main threat, but against an Arsenal defence that allows just 0.08xG per shot, it could be a long afternoon for the striker!

Arsenal, with 815 final-third passes (79.8% success) and 156 opposition-box touches, will be confident of improving on their eight-goal tally given the form of Viktor Gyökeres (4 goals in four games over the break), who is expected to replace the injured Kai Havertz.

Modelling gives Arsenal a 68% chance of winning this weekend—the strongest of these four selections. If survival is your priority, they are my first choice.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

This could be your chance to back United against a vulnerable opponent propping up the league table, with only two points and two goals.

One win in five league matches hardly makes the Red Devils a shoo-in, but their underlying numbers offer more encouragement than their table position.

United sit 12th with five points, but fourth in the expected-points table (8.4). They have produced a league-high 113 shots, generated 9.89 xG and registered 182 touches in the opposition penalty area. The opportunity is there, but turning those underlying performance metrics into meaningful outcomes remains the challenge.

Bottom club Tottenham have struggled to turn possession into dangerous chances, generating just 5.00 xG and a league-low average of 0.07 xG per shot.

The tactical matchup should also favour the hosts. United have recorded 11 fast breaks, scoring twice from those situations, while Tottenham have registered only one. Spurs’ low PPDA of 8.8 suggests an aggressive press, but if United can play through or around it, they may find space to exploit.

Bruno Fernandes remains pivotal. His three goals, 13 chances created and 1.32 xA underline his influence, although his physical condition after the international break warrants attention, with Portugal manager Jorge Jesus confirming the playmaker has been managing some ongoing pain.

United are fancied (54%), but their inconsistency carries a degree of risk. Premier League betting punters, be warned.

Sunderland vs Brighton and Hove Albion

The Seagulls offer an attractive alternative, and if team news falls in their favour, they could leave the Stadium of Light with three points.

Brighton have been outstanding offensively. Third in the table, they have scored 16 goals from a league-leading 11.49 xG and 95 shots, second only to Manchester United. Their finishing has exceeded expectations, but the volume and quality of their chances provide substance beneath the scorelines.

The Seagulls also lead the division for possession at 64.8%, have the lowest PPDA at 7.4 and have recorded 56 high turnovers, eight of which have led to shots.

They can sustain pressure with the ball and threaten when opponents try to play out. That could trouble Sunderland, who have conceded 10 goals from 8.65 xG, three directly attributed to errors. Brighton like to press, and they do it well.

Pascal Groß continues to defy his years, contributing three goals and three assists. His 15 chances created (1st) include 12 from open play, while Maxim De Cuyper has added 11 chances and two assists.

I’m leaning towards Brighton despite only a 41% chance of winning. Hat-trick hero Brian Brobbey seems certain to miss out, and there are even doubts over his possible replacement, Wilson Isidor.

Reports also suggest Dan Ballard may not feature in this next block of fixtures. If you’re sitting on the fence, wait for the team news, as any of the Black Cats’ big hitters missing would swing favour to the visitors.

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest

This weekend’s differential punt, and the closest call of the four fixtures.

The supercomputer narrowly favours Palace (37%), but I prefer to back the visitors (36%) in what should be a tight game.

Oliver Glasner returns to his former stomping ground with a Forest side that has conceded just 4.80 xG, the second-lowest total in the division, and allowed a league-low 52 shots. But the shortfall comes in attack: Forest have scored only four goals from 6.96 xG and managed a paltry 17 attempts on target (18th), in contrast to their total shots taken (82), which ranks them third.

Performances have been stronger than their results suggest.

The Eagles’ numbers offer encouragement: they have conceded 11 goals from 9.46 xG and allowed 84 shots (only two teams have given up more), with three-quarters coming from inside the penalty area. Seven errors leading to shots add to the concern.

Morgan Gibbs-White looks central to Forest’s prospects. He has created 14 chances, including 12 from open play, and generated 1.42 xA. With one goal and two assists, he has been directly involved in three of their four league goals.

Forest are my differential selection. Their defensive strength combined with the Eagles’ consecutive defeats at Selhurst Park makes this a credible case for Final One Standing players willing to take a little more risk.
