First Premier League Manager To Be Sacked Odds: Glasner Odds Slashed

The Crystal Palace coach has seen his odds cut to 3/1 with William Hill to be the first Premier League Manager to leave his post, following a dramatic deadline day transfer saga involving club captain Marc Guehi.
The Austrian coach was as big as 25/1 before the deadline day spectacle which saw him threaten to resign as manager if his captain left the club. A deal for Marc Guehi’s transfer to Liverpool was signed and sealed before the summer transfer window shut, but Glasner was adamant in keeping the England defender at the club and according to reports, used somewhat controversial tactics to keep him there.
Glasner may now be in hot water with Crystal Palace’s ownership team following his unorthodox strategy used to keep the Eagles’ captain in South London, and despite him bringing European football, an FA Cup, and a Community shield to Selhurst Park, his future as their head coach is becoming increasingly uncertain.
Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo remains the 11/10 favourite to leave his post first, as his relationship with club owner, Evangelos Marinakis looks rocky. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim is currently 10/3, in from 25/1, following Manchester United’s shock defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town, which saw them crash out of the League Cup in the second round.
The trio are followed closely by West Ham manager Graham Potter (4/1), while further out, Wolves’ boss Vitor Pereira (7/1), Leeds’ Daniel Farke (14/1), and Brentford’s Keith Andrews (16/1) are outsiders to be the first to go.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “There has been a major market mover in the Premier League manager sack race with Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner crashing into 3/1 from 25/1 following his threats to resign if Marc Guehi’s transfer to Liverpool was completed.
“Despite Glasner bringing European football and an FA Cup to Selhurst Park, his reaction to Marc Guehi’s potential transfer has thrown a spanner in the works, leading to more speculation about his future as head coach.
“The Palace boss joins Nuno Espírito Santo (11/10) and Rúben Amorim (10/3 from 25/1), who have both been under plenty of scrutiny in recent weeks, and there’s no doubt that the manager sack race will continue heat up when Premier League football returns after the international break.”
With the international break now underway, clubs have a chance to reevaluate and assess their management positions; only time will tell to whether all 20 managers will remain in their posts in the weeks to come.
