Lee Phelps’ Premier League picks: Cunha to net again

| BY News Team

All we’ve heard after the Arsenal win over Liverpool is how the title race is really hotting up, but the betting tells a different story as we head into the Premier League fixtures – City are still odds on, Liverpool just over 2/1 and Arsenal are 6/1, which, if you’re a glass half-full Gooner, may be tempting.

By the time Liverpool kick off at home to Burnley, City may well be top and the pressure will be back on Jurgen Klopp’s men. I’ve no doubt they’ll rise to it against a team who, despite ending their 68-match unbeaten home run in 2021, generally don’t have a good time against Liverpool.

I expect Klopp to get a reaction – he usually does when they lose. On the three occasions they’ve tasted defeat this season they’ve come back and kept a clean sheet, winning twice and ‘battering’ Man Utd in a nil-nil draw. The home win to nil is a touch of odds on, but I prefer Liverpool -2 on the handicap, at 11/10.I’ll also be sticking that in an acca with City -1, Spurs to beat Brighton and Newcastle to win at Forest at around 11/1.

One other bet I really like for the Saturday games is in the Wolves Brentford match. I’ve put Matheus Cunha up on talkSPORT plenty lately and at around 2/1 to score at anytime and 11/2 first goal scorer, I’m going back in again. He scored and set one up in last month’s win in the FA Cup, and has been involved in seven goals in his last five league games for Wolves scoring four.
