Lee Phelps’ Premier League picks: United to get back on track

| BY News Team

It’s a huge weekend for the title race and top four battle with Liverpool versus Manchester City and Aston Villa against Tottenham tomorrow, but before all that Arsenal could go top and Manchester United could close to within three points of fifth place.

Let’s start at Old Trafford where no-one quite knows what to expect next. The series of mini-revivals have largely centred around teams in the bottom half of the table or in the lower leagues, so this could be a perfect fit for Erik ten Hag to get his side back on track after their derby day disappointment.

Everton are without a win in 10 league games, picking up five points in that spell – it’s relegation form and they need to get back on track. The Toffees are the second lowest scorers, with 14 of their 29 goals coming in 15 away games. In truth United aren’t that much better, so I can see a low scorer here, as Sean Dyche sets them up for a draw.

I like the Enhanced Odds ‘treble’ of a fit-again Marcus Rashford to have a shot on target, the home win and under three goals at 5/1.

At tea-time Arsenal have a great chance to go top. Then they can pray for a draw between the other two and they’ll be in front on goal difference.

There’s nothing in Brentford’s recent form that suggests their price of 10/1 is worth a punt and I think a look at the handicaps is worthwhile. The Gunners have been sensational in the league. In their last seven games they’ve scored 31 goals and conceded three.

You can back Arsenal minus two on the handicap at 6/4 (you need a three-goal winning margin for that to land) and 10/3 for minus three. Minus two has landed five times in those seven games, so that’ll do for me.
