Lee Phelps’ Premier League picks: Is time running out for Heckingbottom and Kompany?

| BY News Team

What a weekend in the Premier League with huge games at the top and especially the bottom, where we could see our first managerial sacking since the season started.

Burnley face Sheffield United and both bosses are under extreme pressure. If either sees their side lose it could be the end. Heading into the weekend Blades’ gaffer Paul Heckingbottom is 11/10 to be the next manager to leave in the Premier League, while Burnley boss Vincent Kompany is 7/2. I’ll let you decide who is value there.

Kompany has seen his team create a new unwanted record in the top-flight, losing seven straight home games. You have to wonder who will back them at odds on! It may be the worst price I’ve ever seen, so I looked at Sheffield United, who are over 3/1, but they have lost five and drawn one away from home. The draw at 13/5 seems the logical way to bet on this one.

Newcastle United take on Manchester United in a game that should live up to the hype, with the sides seemingly heading in different directions, as evidenced by the fact Eddie Howe’s teams are odds on to win this. They were odds against to beat Chelsea last week!

I’d add goals into any bet on the home side, they’re the second highest scorers in the division heading into the weekend and Erik ten Hag’s men haven’t conceded this many goals in their first 20 games for 60 years.

I’m also taking Anthony Gordon to score again at just under 2/1.

Finally, let’s look at Man City at home to Spurs and I’ll write one sentence about the betting on this game. Tottenham are 9/1 to win and 14/1 to win with both teams scoring.
