Now, let’s take a closer look at some betting angles for Tuesday’s Premier League fixture:
Manchester City v Aston Villa – Tuesday, 8pm
- Manchester City look to have hit form at the right time once again, Pep Guardiola’s side are now unbeaten in their last six games across all competitions and currently find themselves in the top four after consecutive Premier League victories against Crystal Palace and Everton.
- Only Liverpool and Real Madrid have won at the Etihad Stadium within the last twelve games, whilst City have scored two or more goals in ten of their last eleven in East Manchester.
- Man City should feel confident ahead of this one if history is anything to go by, the Blues have won fifteen of the last sixteen meetings against Villa on home soil, the last time Aston Villa took all three points here came back in 2007.
——————————– - Aston Villa have put themselves into the conversation for a UEFA Champions League spot next season, despite beating PSG 3-2 at Villa Park, it wasn’t enough to keep them in this seasons campaign, meaning they’ll have to finish within the top five to secure UCL football again.
- They are definitely going the right way about it, an emphatic 4-1 victory against Newcastle on Saturday night extended Unai Emery’s sides winning run in the Premier League to five games, a run of form which sees them sixth at the time of writing, just two points off third.
- This is huge for Aston Villa, defeat here would see them move four points behind City and even though a top-five finish would still be on, the pressure would be huge for those final four games.
