Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “With the new Premier League season just days away, our customers have seemingly turned against Manchester United as they’re now the second-most popular team in our relegation market, with 11.7% of all bets on Ruben Amorim’s side to face the drop.
“Only Brentford have seen more interest to be relegated, making up 18.8% of bets. Of the newly promoted sides, Sunderland have received the most bets on them to go down at 9.5%, which is more than West Ham at 9.2%, while Leeds and Burnley make up smaller percentages of bets taken.
“Despite punters siding with the established sides to be relegated, we’re still as short as 5/2 on all three promoted teams to drop straight back down, while it’s 16/1 that all of them survive.”
