Postecoglou’s Forest given 18% chance of finishing above Spurs
Ange Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest have been handed an 18% chance of finishing above Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season, according to William Hill.
The former Spurs manager was appointed at the City Ground following Nuno Espírito Santo’s departure, and he’ll face his old club later this campaign. It’s 10/1 that Forest complete a league double over Tottenham, while Spurs are 7/2 to win both meetings.

Elsewhere in the market, Forest are 6/1 to finish inside the top six and 20/1 for a top-four spot. Relegation remains a possibility at 7/1, while European glory is priced at 10/1 for Forest to win the Europa League and 12/1 to top the competition’s league phase.
There’s also a 25/1 chance that Postecoglou leaves before Christmas Day, though the odds suggest he is likely to stay the course through the festive period.
Many will be comparing Postecoglou to Nuno, given the Portuguese manager was still loved by the City Ground faithful upon his departure, which saw him become the first Premier League manager to leave this season. As well as that, the Australian manager certainly gained his fair share of media attention during his time at Spurs and that is unlikely to change here.
Comparisons between his former and current sides will no doubt be rife this season and the games between Forest and Spurs will be exciting affairs. Postecoglou could well leave a bitter taste in the mouth of his former supporters should he get the better of them when they next come head-to-head.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Ange Postecoglou’s return to the Premier League is already generating plenty of intrigue, and the odds suggest it might not be plain sailing in the Australian’s debut season. Forest still look unlikely to finish above Spurs at 9/2, but with Postecoglou’s track record, it’s certainly not out of the question.
“A top-six finish at 6/1 would mark a hugely successful first season, while odds of 10/1 on Forest winning the Europa League suggest they could be continental contenders too. While a top-four finish isn’t out of the question, the odds suggest it’s unlikely at 20/1. A poor start to Ange’s reign could bring in the possibility of him leaving the club before Christmas Day but is a longer shot at 25/1.”
