The title race was hotly contested last year between Manchester City and Arsenal, with City coming out on top on the final day of the season to make it four consecutive league victories.

Manchester City – 6/5
In the pursuit of five consecutive league titles, Manchester City head the outright market again this year. There is no doubt that Arsenal have closed the gap on Pep Guardiola’s side and with the legal issues the club is facing off the pitch over financial regulation breaches, it looks set to be a difficult season for City once again.
City’s squad is, as ever, world-class with talent all over the pitch and with depth like no other squad in the division. Many of the players on the bench on a matchday would walk into any other team’s starting 11, going to show how difficult will be beat to a 38-game long campaign.
Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are their star men, both players are respective favourites in the Top Goalscorer (8/13) and Most Assists (5/2) markets. Haaland is chasing his third consecutive Golden Boot, having scored 27 goals last year, and looks set to continue his rich vein of scoring form.
With De Bruyne arguably the most dangerous player in the league with the ball at his feet when on form, if these two can strike up the partnership that has proved so deadly, it’ll be hard to see many teams beating City last year.
City could be the best side in the league, but with the growing threat of punishment this season due to their ongoing legal battle, it may be better to look elsewhere.
Arsenal – 13/8
In recent seasons, Arsenal have been the team to push City and have just fallen short. However, it seems this is a side that’s coming to the boil, and this could finally be their year.
Since Mikel Arteta’s arrival, Arsenal have improved year on year to what they are today – genuine title contenders. The chemistry in the group is at a high, they have bought into Arteta and have won the fans back over.
The starting 11 was strong last year, but there were some questions over the strength in depth of the side, with a busy campaign including Champions League football. They have made signings this summer to aid that, with Riccardo Calafiori arriving from Bologna to bolster the defensive ranks.
There’s no reason to believe they can’t go again, with their squad staying the same and with another year’s experience of playing at the top level. Defensive solidity may be what wins it this the year for the Gooners – they conceded the least number of goals in the league last season, with William Saliba and Gabriel striking up a great partnership. David Raya looks to have locked down his position in between the sticks, and his price of 15/8 for Golden Glove is appealing.
It’ll be a tall order to best City, but with the concerns that City will have off the pitch this season and the strengthening of Arsenal’s squad over the summer, this may be their year.
